I don't care how you want to look at it.

It's how it's done. The ATA and the FMCSA want to put people on EOBR to attempt to stop it.

Rationalizing it or what ever you want to call it. People do it on paper because it helps them out. And the powers that be don't like it so they are trying to regulate it.

You can't tell me in your 33 years you haven't fudged a start or end time or some other point in your career.

Heck, I went to BBB and asked him specifically to help me find an EOBR that was affordable so I could put it in my personal truck. Not because I like E-logs, but because I see it as a necessarily evil to protect myself from our own LEO's and government. How pathetic is that? It's already done it once enough for me to justify the future expense of it. Especially considering how many communities are now relying on speed cameras for civil violations.

If you think I am saying that this is the way I want to run, then I guess you need to make arrangements with me so that we can go meet over coffee sometime so you can really get to know me.

I walked away from OTR trucking in 1995 because I was tired of running multiple logs or what have you. I won't do it again. I can make good money running legal and if people don't think you can, then they don't understand what they are doing.

All they did was to stop the funding for it. The law is there, the FMCSA can and will go forward with their rules on the effective date and etc. The only stoppage will be the funding to implement the plan. Not much of a stop really.

Both sides have wanted this since 2005. Now, it is just a political handball. After the election, back to the shafting of the driver.

which amounts to alot of political grandstanding, and NOTHING will change. EOBR's are mandated, there will be court battles and political battles, just like the HOS rules that have been under challenge since they were enacted in 2003. But we are stuck with them, like it or not.

A great statement, does not matter if you are on paper or electronic.

I have never stated that. I freely admit that in my early days I ran 10 and 20 with the old Good Time Gang. But, that was many, many years ago, in a very different world.

The amendment to withhold funding, by a few in the House, did not fly. The mandate is still on.

Then don't make me spend an additional $2200 equipment and another $40 per month to put something in my truck I don't need.

It's pure political and industry lobbyist manipulation.

If they want to make drivers / carriers run legal, then lets focus on the real issues. How about unreasonable detention. Adequate and realistic driver pay.
