I don't embrace it, I hate government control, but that is what people keep asking for to solve their problems.

I have not given up the fight, but also know which battles are lost, due to the current nanny state.

I do believe that at one time there were some folks who felt it was worth fighting for even over a nanny state....

It was done in May of this year. It was decided after the public comment period to enact it as a law. It was added as part of the Highway Bill and passed on 6-29-12. It was signed into the law as of 7-6-12. To complicate it more, it was the focus of the house this week where they removed the funding. It still can and will be developed by the FMCSA during the planning stage. All that is left for them to do is to fund it. Not a major delay unfortunately.

I give it no long term hope to be avoided. It has been in the works and supported by both parties.

After the election, business as usual. Most likely, January 1, 2014 for eobr on the trucks.

The wording on the bill is 1 year to develop the rules and in place within 2 years of the bill.

Actually they were fighting over oppressive taxes, had nothing to do with cradle to grave government mandates on what you must do, what you must eat, and what you must buy.
