They will drain your maintenance account.I turned in a very nice truck also, and they say I owe 1100 dollars, unbelievable.Of course I knew they were going to shaft me and they did.Half expected it.It would be naive of me to believe that they were going to let me leave without sticking it to me in one form or another. You give four years to a company, train their drivers, have a perfect service and safety record.Take immaculate care of their truck, and they break it off in your a--.Lovely. Ive kind of kept quite about it because Im not a whiner, but they screwed me,thats all Im going to say.

frog, no need to keep quite about it. It is the truth. And I expect them to drain the account, but I will also demand an itemized statement.

You should always say goodbye to every penny in a maintenance account the day you pay into it. It is not income, it is not a savings account.

I can say that when I left Stevens, they treated me right.

I was told not to turn in a notice and not to tell them until I get within a fuel tanks distance from the yard because they wont route you through or will shut off the fuel card. That wasnt true. I gave several days notice and they did everything that they could including 2 repowers to get me to the yard.

As far as the truck, I was afraid that they would ding me on things even though I returned it in the same condition that I received it in. They didnt take out any money for anything. My final check was for everything that they owed to me. But I wasnt alliance either...

Good luck T in whatever you do next...

When I left Stevens, back in July '08, I was taken care of by everyone but the Weekend staff. Unfortunately for me, I showed up with my truck return on a Saturday. My DM assured me that it would be fine and that he had arranged a ride for me, with another driver, to Boston and then a bus to Bangor, ME from there.

We all know how wonderfully competent and useful the weekend staff is...

After I cleaned out the truck, and got everything cleared from Maintenance the weekend staff took back the keys and then called security to escort me off the property. I told the extremely rude a-hole at the window that I was supposed to meet up with another driver ... that it had been prearranged by my DM ... and he told me that he didn't know anything about it. I asked him to check, he said, "No, you quit, so you gotta get the f&*k out."

Lucky for me I had a friend on stand-by ... just for something like this ... and got a ride to DFW. I was also lucky to know a few people at the DFW offices for American Eagle (I used to be a mechanic for them) and was able to get a flight to Boston cheap. I can't imagine how screwed I'd have been if I didn't have those things to take care of the situation.

The messed up thing is I'm thinking of trying to go back. LOL :biggrin_2556:

TLea, keep us updated on how things are going with you ... you'll be missed.

I can't say what will happen with my lease end. All seemed well, but I put tires and a new hub on just a few weeks ago, so my account was drained to near nothing anyway.
I suspect my final accounting will be in another week or two.

In another vein, we have arrived in Dallas and are all set up. Will report for the new position monday morning.
Will let you all know how it goes.

    TRKRSHONEY and Rattlebunny Thank this.

While your in the Grad phase Stevens wants you to send in your trip plans for every load. What does that mean? Does that mean you have to route yourself to every destination?

I thought they give you the routing for every load in the qualcomm

Yes, you need to plan every trip. That means more than just what roads to take. You list where you will stop for breaks and for how long. Where and when to stop for the day. What time to start driving and what time to stop. What route to take etc ...

But how do you know when you are going to stop to take a 15 min break if you need to stop before hand. You might want to stop to stretch or use the bathroom. How do you predict those things in the beginning. I understand telling the route your going to take but all the other things that you don't know in the beginning.

    I'm confused bro
