Instructions for pulling from the POI-Factory does state it must be in a .CSV format.

    thanks,

Think much of the stuff there is already in a proper format. I had to use a converter for Garmin and Tom Tom, but not for RM this go around. Still, they do offer a converter and if one is going to play with this stuff, it is something worth having.

Ps- for Alk, did it by hand. Much thanks to the Diesel Boss when I was dealing with that.

Also be aware that when you do import the POI's and disconnect from the computer, be sure to plug the TND into AC. Note - you may get failures on some of the POI's in a category. The TND will tell you how many failed to import. The Dock will let you see them. If they are in a .CSV format any DB will be able to open them for you to correct.

    Thanks

Ac? Don't you mean to plug it back into power before re-starting.

AC = house power, this is needed to start the importing of the files the Dock just loaded in.

    Thanks,
    Mark

To make life simple, plug into house power = AC = 115vac. This ensures a constant power source. If a driver plugs into his DC plug and shuts the truck off, sometimes this power source will also shut off and the TND will be in the middle of importing the files. It can take 30-45 minutes sometimes to import the files depending on how many POI's you are putting into your TND.

    Thanks,
    Mark

I have been using a Garmin 560 LT($250) for about two months and have been very happy with it.
The only con would be constant no truck warnings when driving a road that is and sometimes it keeps trying to reroute back to the original course instead of reroute based on direction of travel.
These are infrequent issues and there are many pros. So it took less time to list the few cons.
It finds the hole in the walls, traffic, scales and has a sexy Aussie voice that is easy to follow.
Just like anything else, how you set it up has a lot to so with how well it works. Good luck!
