Well I made it to the Sturtevant Drop lot with a little over an hour left on my 14 for the day. Waiting to see if I can deliver this load early tomorrow and then extend my home time by a couple days.
Don't feel like driving up to my house tonight so I'm just staying in the yard.

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

I started out at 26 com. Was told I'd get a 3 cent raise every 3 months for the first year but have only got a 3 cent after 6 months (been working for 10 months). Still havnt got around to asking about my other raises yet though, mainly as I'm not too hopeful since it seems everyone else gets them at 6 and 12 months....

I still think SNI is a good company for starting out, maybe a year or two... But after that you can make a lot more elsewhere. -
I really don't know why ppl think they should make over .40 cpm after only a couple of years...
Nakmuay Thanks this. -
Because people know what they're worth.
An old timer told me before I started, if you're not making around $.45 after 3 years, you should see what you're doing wrong or find another job. I followed that advice.
My cousin told me the same thing, at least .34-.36 after the first year or two but should be over .40 after two years. -
I don't think a rookie should be making as much as me. I also think that I shouldn't be making as much as someone with 20 years of trucking. I dunno. My opinion.

Time for a new employer....? -
Maybe for you. I like what I do and well compensated.

My personal opinion which probably don't count for much, is that it's not a one size fits all industry. Sure experience should count for something, but also performance as well. If you have a 15 year driver who spends all his or her time trashing around at the truckstop and you have a 3 year driver out there getting it done, they should be compensated for it. Sure you have to learn the ropes and all that, but after 3 to 5 years and you're still making $.32, then it may be time to look at another option. Unless of course you have perks and things that make up for that pay, then maybe that's a whole different ballgame.
Vitamin D Thanks this. -
Got a question for the SNI vet's. Whats your refresher course like? I have 4 years drive time but been over a year sense OTR so guess they say I get to go to a refresher course. Two weeks then I get a set of keys, providing they like me and I like them.
