I am trying to get into a company sponsored program. FFE has already turned me down. and so did CR England. Which may be a good thing when it comes to CR England from some of the stories I have read. I have 2 misdemeanor charges, personal injury to property. Why are these to petty charges hindering me. They are 2-3 years old. I am waiting to hear back from Driver Soloutions. On going with PAM or USA Truck. Any other companies that may look at me? Advice is greatly appreciated.

It all comes down to insurance man. If the underwriter of the school's truck policy won't touch you, you're SOL. In this day and age it all comes down to your DAC and CSA score's. Big brother is watching. You MIGHT be ok trying Stephens trucking or Swift, or Warner. Look for a company that hires "student" driver's, since most of the time they're self insured.
But, the "personal injury" and "property damage" will throw up a boat load of red flags no matter what you do. The best thing to do is talk to a company recruiter and explain the situation to them before you try and apply to the companies.

Companies can be picky. No offense, but don't break the law, you'll have nothing to worry about. And that's the way they look at it. 2-3 years isn't a long time ago. You might have to hold on to that dream of being a driver a little longer if you really want it.

Did these charges stem from a domestic violence incident? If so you'll face an uphill battle with the megacarriers.

No offense taking. I know my mistakes, It was domestic related, bad divorce. My ex wife was using my kids against me. Hadn't seen my daughter in 9 months so I flipped a little. I am a calm level headed person. Until my kids are involved. But like I said I regret it. FFE wanted it to be longer pass by. I may just end up going to a local college and getting my CDL. I will try some other companies too.

CR England is self insur'd, As well, but to the OP, It because they are ONLY 2-3 years old, You need to remember, they need to be able to trust you with a tall, heavy and expenssive piece of equipment not counting the cargo, you meantioned personal injury to PROPERTY, this will make it hard, you might need to wait about two years, seems to be the time line a lot of carriers use

Yes they did. I am sad to say. Everything is smoothed out now and there is a custody/visitation order in place. I just want to be able to go on and live without this hindering me anymore.

It may have been petty offenses but looking at it from their side, it shows a history of violence. It shows someone that can't control their temper. They do not want to be responsible if you go on a road rage spree or rip some dispatcher's head off. I am not saying this is what you would do, I am saying that is how they look at it. I was a general manager for a moving company and with this on you resume, I would never have given you an interview. You could try a local company where you could explain what happened and hope the owner understands and decides to give you a chance. As far as major carriers, it will be very tough to get a break.

Jigsaw has it on the mark...you are going to have to wait quite a bit longer for any training company to even let the app get past the initial phase.

Proves the point: what we do today effects what the future can or will be!

You might want to check out Carolina Cargo. They specialize in giving people second chances.

I know your crimes where felonies but they are of a nature that will make it hard to get on at most megacarriers. Smaller companies also are worth a look once you have your CDL. Many small companies only care about your driving record and how well you do on a road test. I filled out an app. today at a small company and it never asked about felonies or misdemeanors.
