Appreciate the help in advance drivers. I just have a few questions at this time. I'm sure there will be more in the future.
    1) are all the checks done before you come to orientation?
    2) does everyone do the 40k in a reefer even if you are gonna go flatbed?
    3) is cdl testing done by prime or the state?
    4) 34 hr resets, is it just 34 hours?
A little about me. I am retired air force. I drove 1995 to 2000. As a company driver then an o/o. Ran flatbed. Came off the road cause I got married and a year later was divorced. Been single ever since and have no children of my own. I have no bills accept for my phone so my expenses are low. Plan to lease. Don't think it's gonna be any harder then being an o/o.
    Thanks again for your responses.

The initial screening is. They take that, the online application, and the pen and ink application you do in orientation and do a more in-depth look while you are at orientation. If anything doesn't jibe, they look further.

There are simply more trainers in the reefer division. You could luck-out and find a flatbed instructor, you may not.

If you choose to take the permit test at Springfield, its done in their office. The CDL driving test examiners are from the state of Missouri.

Currently, although the changes proposed to take place next year could stretch it out to as much as 53 or so. Those changes are being challenged in court at this time.

Check the Leasing at Prime thread if you're interested.

The Cdl testing is done by examiners that work for Prime. DOT audits some of the tests. There's not nearly as many flatbed instructors as reefer. Good luck to ya!

Thanks. I had read somewhere that the 34 had to have two periods from 0001-0600. If they stretch it to 50 plus that's gonna be rediculouse. And I did check the lease info. Thanks again. Any other things I should know that I may not have read on the threads here?
