    Here is the business plan.
You will make less than a company driver who knows what he is doing.
You will make just enough to get by so you don't quit.
You will have a check stub with 50 deductions and only one Bottom line.
You will lie to yourself and those you meet to make it all seem not so bad.
You will ask yourself internally how you could ever be so #### stupid.

Some l/p programs actually do allow you to modify your truck however you want and don't starve you of miles

In reality you can't make a business plan when preparing to lease unless you have already been driving for them for a little while. Your dispatcher will be the unknown factor so you won't know what kind of miles or what your potential income will be (unless you are dumb enough to go by what the recruiters tell you). This is why it is important to drive company for awhile first before leasing. This way you will know exactly how your dispatcher is going to run you and how many miles and $$$ you will make.

That's the key DrtyD! You will know exactly where you stand if you do decide to lease! You can also now write a more correct and precise business plan now that you now what to expect. Keep track of everything you do while you are driving company. Every single little thing! Now when you write your business plan you just use those figures to plug into it. Also keep in mind you need to make sure to plug in those other figures too like your current living expenses, car payments, credit card bills etc... This is all part of the grand scheme of things. You can hire someone to help you with this (such as ATBS) or you can do it yourself. Search the website for maybe an outline for a trucking business plan or something close to it. You can also check the OOIDA website. They may have one or link you up with someone who does or can write one for you.

Remember that no business plan is complete without an exit strategy! Make sure to have yourself a good exit strategy. I also highly recommend you write out your business plan separate from your funding plan or the plan that you would show to an investor or loan officer. That one you are going to want to handle a little differently. Your original biz plan is for your eyes only and is your battle plan to success! You want it to be truthful and easily executable! Now your funding plan you will want to handle differently. Maybe a little embellishing if you know what I mean....

    Good luck man...
