*sigh* No. Student (PSD) = 75 to 100 hours with an instructor. No pay, but you can draw $200/week advance. Takes ~2 - 3 weeks.

Trainee = 40,000 (10k reduction for PSD students) with a trainer. $600/week guarantee (for PSD) or $500/week for the first 4 weeks then bumped to $600/week for those coming in w/ a CDL. If you and your trainer get more than 5k miles/week, you will get 12cpm (10cpm for first for weeks coming in w/ CDL) which comes out to more than the guarantee.

Both hours required AND miles required are MINIMUMS. If your instructor/trainer or FM think you need more miles, you'll have to do more. Have any incidents on the road, you'll have to do more.

Doing the math: 5k miles per week = 8 weeks @$600/guarantee to reach 40k miles. So ~3 months from PSD to solo. JCW took ~10 weeks or so to cover his 40k, as his trainers' trucks each went down for a week (radiator, turbo). But during those 10 weeks, my bank account got $600 (gross) or more every week. As usual, taxes and any other normal deductions come out of your paycheck. At 90 days, you qualify for benefits, which come out of your paycheck.

Wrong. As a student without a CDL you will be assigned a PSD instructor for 10000 miles, during this time you ARE NOT an employee of Prime but you will receive 200 per week to help cover your expenses. After the 1000 miles you will be brought in to upgrade your permit to a full CDL. IF you pass the tests and receive your CDL then you will be assigned a TNT instructor and you will then be paid 600 per week OR .12 cpm which ever is greater. Students normally receive the 600 per per week as the .12cpm only comes into effect once you hit around 5000 miles for the week. Do the math. This continues for 30K miles. Then if recommended by your instructor and your FM you are upgraded to your own truck.

I think the misconception of the amount of training comes from older threads and Internet info from when Prime required 80k instead of 40k. DTB post should be docked at the beginning of the Prime thread. Lol

Glad youre in the mood to type all that lol I aint. Untarping, unsecuring in the hot sun just doesnt make me want to reply to that. Prime dropped the training down LAST year when I was going through it. People dont read the info before they comment.

Hey, I'm making the drive to and from Tulsa every day. With no A/C. And at 16:30...that's 110 degrees. Still over 90 at 09:30. :biggrin_2553:
