Stevens Transport aviary

Gonna have Stevens buy some more trailer tires today. Found 4 bad tires on this morning's PTI. I like me them Ultraone points! Im helping all you OTR guys, I never go by a weigh/inspection station on my dedicated route. Man we need another terminal just to get these trailers up to par! I did the same OTR and never lost too many miles cause I'd plan my trip to get things fixed or get repowerd.

 

So, enough with all the serious stuff, where is everyone, where ya going, what ya haulin'?

 

I'm packing for my plane ride tomorrow. 7 days worth of clothes take a lot of room lol. Trying to get everything situated at home before my 8-9 weeks out. This will be hard on the family at first but will get used to it.

 

I do have one question, I will also ask when I get there but would like to hear it from the drivers first.

If (after training of course) I get a chance to go to like the Grand Canyon or Niagra Falls, would I be able to stop for awhile to see these places If it doesn't affect appointment times and things like that. Does the company have a problem with that? I have already been to these places but wouldn't mind seeing them again.

 

well i was in buffalo waiting on a canada truck i guess i could have gone to the falls in a taxi. just not a commercial truck as the signs stated

 

For the most part it is like stlvance said, most 'sights' do not allow a commercial truck anywhere nearby. It is also not recommended that you leave your truck/load unattended. Had a major problem with that in Nashville when the TA truckstop flooded. Driver had parked his loaded truck and gone to visit family/friend in area. Lost entire load because truck was almost completely under water.

 

god some of you are so afraid of bending some rules.. so if you got a ton of time on a load and you can squeeze out a 34 in a town where you got friends or family your not gonna go see them and your gonna babysit your truck that you sit in 24/7, lol sorry mom im to afraid to leave this load unattended.. put you pad lock on it make sure you got enough fuel in it and your good to go

And try to explain when you get back and your truck is under water or the tractor has been pulled out and you load is gone?? No thank you, I don't have the $$$ to pay for one of these trailers & loads. If you do giants14701, then more power to you. You're exactly the irresponsible type of driver that we have as trainers right now!!
