Unless you want to file bankrupsy stay away from Waller truck, aMissouri carrier. My husband worked for them about 1 month and that was more then enough. He was only making .32 mile with no layover pay, no detension pay or anything that truck don't move you don't get paid at all, there was a lot of days he would be lucky to make 35.00, he was sitting and waiting for freight more then going down hwy. Luckily the day my husband walked out on them because they were going to send him to Texas after he had did a run for them that night with no more then 4 hours sleep mind you, he got a local job that pays 16.00 an hour and he is home everynight, in his words, screw all these trucking company's that wants to screw a hard working truck driver, I will get a local job even if it is Janitor work the pay would be the same. Luckily he didn't have too do that, but he does have a good job now and just for the currious, his pay check was about 375.00- 400.00 take home. And that included some weeks he would get a Georgia run. So word to the wise, see Waller coming run don't walk other direction.:smt065

this is a bad company to go to if you do not live near their terminal and expect to ever go home. they advertise "home most weekends",but that is only true if you live near the terminal in excelsior springs or kansas city,mo area. Otherwise you can count on having to always fight to get home, and if you do manage to get home you'll more than likely have been out for 4-8wks and only get home long enough to do a restart on your hrs(34hrs),after you threaten to quit.
They also only pay 2/3 of the layover pay they say you're supposed to get on any layovers that are longer than 24hrs.
They'll start you out with good miles, and than drop them to almost nothing after the 1st month.
If interested in a lease/purchase: be warned- you will never own the truck after completing the lease with this company. They'll give you a check for completing the lease and then take the truck back.

Let me give you a little info on this trucking company in Excesiorsprings Mo they get you on there and treat you good as long as you are homeless and use there facilities like live in your truck at the terminal use there showers and the company van for your grocery shopping they will even pay for the gas in the van for you and live in the drivers lounge use there tv there washer and dryer but if you take a BATH AND YOUR ON TIME WITH YOUR LOADS AND USE YOUR MONEY TO WASH THERE TRUCK THEN YOU GOTTA GO YOU DO THAT AND YOU GET ON THE SH# LIST and once they have you for 1 year they get 2500 kickback from the government on taxes and they will make you quit so they can rehire you to get another payment from the gov they pay shortest pc miler miles so every load you drive 50 to 80 miles for free they only pay to the city limit but they pay everyone in that office for every hour they work and we created there jobs but yet we get our throat cut they dont want you to make anymore than someone in that office and watch out for the BB TEAM that means BECKY AND BILLY SHE WILL CUT YOUR THROAT TO SAVE HER ### THEY ARE LOVERS AND HE IS THE HEAD DISPATCHER so bottom line if you KEEP UP YOUR LOGS AND ARE A ONTIME DRIVER THEN YOU DONT WANT TO WORK FOR THEM OH AND USE YOUR MONEY TO WASH THERE TRUCKS

I'm scared to start what I have to say about this company. I will sum it up or I will start on a rant of no return. If you are single and nothing to loose then work for this company. If you have a payment, house, car etc. DON'T work for this company. To start you will not make the miles they say you will. This is not a rant of an employee that refused runs. You have to beg to get miles from this company. The insurance is not worth the price you pay. No insurance for spouse. They say they give insurance to a spouse, but it's only supplemental insurance. NO bonuses. Unless you count the clean DOT inspection bonus. Which means you get pulled over and an inspection is done you get a whopping $25 for the clean inspection. Wow?! We almost lost our home because of this company. He was lucky to clear $600 a week. The whole company is 9to5. M-F. So you work on their terms, and times. I will leave it as this. Unless you have nothing to lose, think twice about this company.

why do almost all companies just wish to treat drivers as trash and replaceable parts?
    i never can understand it

Are you kidding? You are complaining that you didn't get paid more for something that is part of the job? Most companies don't pay for passing an inspection, it's expected from a professional truck driver. If they didn't offer the $25 bonus would you have just failed each and every inspection?

If you read everything I said, you'd understand the complaint about them was you don't get any miles! No miles, no money. No money, no house, no car, no food in you mouth each month! They tell you when you start there you get GREAT benifits and bonuses. Also great miles. And when yourdispatcher tells you 1800miles is a good week, you know that this is not right. If your a driver you know you can't make a living off this company. The $25 DOT inspection, of course is nice to get, if you get inspected alot. But if your a clean driver, and inspect your truck and trailer properly all the time you don't get pull over for these inspections. It's hard to get those inspections, when your sitting and waiting for those miles, that you don't get. My husband is a clean driver and never has he failed an inspection. If that is what you got out of my statement, then I'm sorry you don't understand my complaint on the company. But next time read the whole complaint, and you would understand why I wrote it. By the way $25 doesn't feed you or pay your bills. Nor does 1800 miles! You've been trucking for 20 years, then you would no that.

The best thing for your husband is to find a smaller company with less trucks so there's enough freight for everyone. I know a good small sized carrier is very difficult to find so good luck in your search.
