the best way to manage your hours is to try and plan your trips so your max on duty time is no more than 10 hours a day. i know its hard to do that, but some times it can be done. if you can make it happen that way, you will always gain 10 back each day after you pass the 7 day mark. that would be too easy though lol. time is time. period. you will learn how to manage your hours to the second.

And if you have electronic logs, you are doomed to not have any other choice I am afraid.

yep. eobr severly limits your working weeks. we'll all be cut down to 8 hours. just to keep from resetting

AND, you can drive 13 1/2 hours in a day. which is 24 hours long.

you either use up your hours and do a reset. or you take your time. and wait till the 9th day to gain what drops off.

Drive ten, break ten, drive 3:45, with three 5 minute pre/post trips. So 13:45 in a 24 hour day, my bad... Probably safer to drive 13 1/2 cuz cutting it to the minute can screw up your logs and get you stuck but it's still more than ten.

The reason there is a 70 hour rule and an 11 hour rule is because the DOT is trying to keep us from being worked to death and to keep wages up. All prices come from supply and demand. If you reduce the supply of labor the price for labor goes up. Trying to "beat the system" will lead to lower wages. It is stupid in the long run.

i have driven every day since 6/11 only reset my hours once you just need to watch your clock constantly
days you load and unload and reload burn up more time on your 14 then they do your 70
for example i have a 2 1/2 hour day coming up in 4 days next 3 days i am going to try using 1 1/2 hour less each day to make day 4 useful

and you can drive 14 hours in a day 10 hours driving , 10 hours off, 4 hours driving looks like 14 hours driving to me

    i'm just saying
