Yeah, 70 is 70, but you see that you are going to run out of hours before you make it back to the yard, or home., a couple of days before hand, drive 9 or 10 hours instead of the 11, to assist you to make it home. It sounds stupid, but in all reality you get go farther when you are fresh at the start of your day. Don't quit understand how that works, but it does. Every time!

You can work 14 hours a day, but you can only drive 11 hours. You will always run out of hours if you log the 14 hours a day. If you want to almost never want to hit your 70, stop driving at 10 hours.

Really? On what planet?
11hrs of driving in one 24hr period. Legally that is.... -
Wonder which way would be more efficient with miles, say with an 11 on 3 off type of schedule? Run hard if possible than reset in nowheresville, or steady and make sure to preserve your hours. I am sure all of this would depend on pick up and delivery times or if your company wants to push you hard. But what if you run hard all week and have to turn down an awesome load just because you have to sit for 34! That would seem to suck....unless you reset in Vegas all the time.
