I see radio receivers all over the chicagoland area. Nowhere near the scales/tolls...

I been in the dot shack at the LA scale on i20 eb and seen the prepass system in their shack. I just know there's some sort of tone that goes off when struck gets the bypass. On the monitor it has the name of the company. I guess I should have paid closest attention as to what was going on in there. I was there long enough.

not trying to hijack the thread but......Is Norpass still operating? I am in Washington today and I know they used to be a Norpass state but was surprised when my prepass went off. Anyone know?

Not making fun at you but the experts say that is not possible, so if your prepass was tripped then something they say could never happen did happen.

I know it had a date stamp. And pretty sure it had a time stamp when I was watching the weigh in motion AND prepass monitors in Wisconsin

I was always told that they could track you on prepass or time stamp you or have your info on file etc.... I have recently had an experience that proved otherwise. I can personally tell you that prepass is nothing but a red light or green light signal. It tells nothing else or registers absolutely nothing else. Now I do not recommend this, however to prove my given information I can tell you for certain that even if you don't even have a prepass and the signal beaming from the antenna is giving the go you may pass by the scale and DOT has no clue weather you have a transponder or not unless they pull you over and personally go through your cab and not find one. They may also be able to call prepass or look up the records but otherwise they have no way of knowing.

I was given this information by a higher up and personally tested myself and may or may have not passed 9 scales in a row with prepass with no transponder in the truck. I had no way of knowing weather the prepass signal was green or red but nonetheless DOT never knew the difference either!

Like I said, I do not recommend this but I can tell you for certain that it is true. However for those non-believers or doubters, give it a shot and find out for yourself.

i have heard of drivers getting speeding tickets at scales because of the time stamp that they passed 1 weigh station and the time stamp for entering that scale showed them having to have traveled faster then the posted speed limit to get there. Could be a truckers tail but you never know.

I have heard of prepass records being subpeoned by court in different lawsuites against trucking companies to show the driver was speeding or running past hours.

In this industry I have learned time and time again to believe half of what I see and none of what I hear!

The only other one I live by in trucking world is that the only thing you can plan on is the plan changing!

I have known two people that did receive citations due to the time measure system from pre pass triggered, they can sell them all they want as not being able to track you but it does.
