Howdy all !! Just wanted to give all of you my situation and ask if there is nothing better out there for me as far as $$$. Currently I work for Quickway out of Texas. Local runs out of our terminal delivering frozen and refrigerated to a grocery chain. I usually put in between 40-52 hours a week six days (off 1 day). We have to unload at customer electric pallet jack. frozen runs are 20 stops about 10-12 hours and refrigerated is between 4-6 stops 3-7 hours. So for me two 9 hour days and 4 (avg) 5 hour day. Check is usally $800-$875 a week before taxes and deductions. Couple weeks a year paid vacation, 2 personel days, Esop, 401k (%6 match)medical etc. From what I see it looks like this is a decent deal compared to some of the other jobs I have looked at. I mean I've called a couple companys that offered a couple days out then back home but the pay seemed to be low. I was looking to get out of the local driving and do a little regional or dedicated but at $.38 to $.40 per mile I just don't see the money. I really would appreciate some input from you truckers out there who are doing dedicated or regional. Maybe I am not looking at the right jobs or is this it. Thanks to all in advance

I have hauled asphalt for the last five years here in Ohio, and usually take the UEC through the winter...but am looking to do it differently. Thanks for any input.

Dude I asked in Indy makes $800 a week off two days home every night.
All he does is shuttle trailers no unloading on usual route. General guys make more but that's decent money for where its at. Indy is cheap living.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
^^ CW, thanks tons, and I respect ya, man. Always glean info from your posts. Got lucky this year, and hauled some OS/OD boards thru the tough times, and we are coming out of bad times shortly. Ask @TripleSix about my first "big" haul, or maybe you saw it in that thread. Dang sign was UPSIDE DOWN.. at least I had one. Dang LEO didn't think it was funny when I said it was a tribute to DEZI (srevo) and Lucy!~ $473.00 later I wasn't laughing anymore.... I'm not a newbie, but I'm not an OS/OW/OD guy by NO means. respect the HECK out of y'alls. Thank you so much for the Input, tho... I made it by the skin of my "teeth" this "off-season."
Couldn't move to INDY and sell the farm. Literally, we own 20+ acres, and will be tilling soon to plant the underground stuff......
That's damg good pay tho. . . considering. I do a bit better, and with the mild winter, had enough to move to not hafta do the UEC .... and trying my hand at the board running made up the difference, minus the ticket, dang.
Can't blame a guy for trying.
Thank you !!!! -
