I'm class B going to school soon for CDL A. I'm sure they'll advise me about certain things I should have in my travel kit. I'd like to know what you guys and gals find you can't live with out, or necessities that you didn't have when you needed it the most.

something to cook on! ex: butane cooktop, 12 volt oven or stove (they don't work very fast at ALL!) i have a 17.95 charcoal grill from wally-world under my bunk brother! nothing like burgers on the catwalk LOL

Laptop, don't forget all your chargers for phone, laptop, bluetooth etc etc.

If you can find them at all. I have a blue parrot headset. No body carries replacement chargers for that. I forgot mine at home this week. So I ended up buying a blue eagle headset sooner than I was planning to just so I can have a headset. I'll give one of them to my wife, she's been wanting one for a while so she can talk on the phone while working around the kitchen. -
do most trucks have power converter/inverter?

How about radar detectors? are they illegal entirely or just some states?

Radar detectors are illegal in all commercial vehicles. This would make them illegal in all the states and canada.
