I have 1 year OTR experience hauling dry-vans. Currently working locally hauling a tanker in the oilfield (about 8 months now). I would like to find a "home on weekends" gig. I have 0 experience hauling flatbeds, but that's something I'm interested in. I currently live about 30 minutes northwest of Fort Worth, TX. Any suggestions on companies I should check out? I have read quite a bit on here about TMC, Melton, and Maverick, but my God my head is hurting from reading so many "back and forth" posts as far as either of those companies being good, bad, or whatever. Can someone offer any suggestions as far as where I could get a good start in flatbed hauling? Maybe even list some Texas-based companies?

any company is what you make of it. most people don't do well with a lot of companies.
flatbedding is a lot of work though. and most loads are tarped. not fun to do in the summer heat or winter cold when everything is frozen. specially when it snows. and then you have loads that will argue with you. not fun when your is cross country.
there are days when i just wanna say piss on this crap.Sam Hell Thanks this. -
