Yeah I posted it here in the wrong forum originally. I figure sooner or later an admin will merge the threads under the truck fix it one.

    Switch to Swift.

All of our trucks have a bypass.

    Boyd truck have a bypass...
    1) Open fuse box if parked in front or middle row, leave this alone if the trailer is in the bush.
    2) Pull trailer handbrake to 30 PSI leaving the trailer air supply knob on RELEASE.
    3) Find the power supply for the computer, normally located in the fuse box. Pull that fuse out so it doesn't record idle.
    4) Enjoy idle!

    --OR--
Prop the cheat bar against the door so its applying pressure to the clutch, not pushing the slack in, but holding it on or almost to the floor.

And in a couple of weeks your how to will be shown in orientation when they are discussing causes for termination. It's amazing what people post on the internet .

Yeah, I am thinking about SWIFT or US Express. I will stay here though until they $h!tcan me for over idle. I already talked to safety about it once. My answer was "If it comes down to my comfort or burning your fuel, I choose my personal comfort every time. So give me a truck with an APU if you don't want me to idle"lol. I am still too new to quit. But I have a clean driving record and no tickets or points. So if they cut me do to over idle, its easy to explain in next interview, and with my safe driving and spotless record I have it made in the shade. :biggrin_25519:

Oh , I'm sure any carrier would think firing you for altering company equipment was unreasonable . Let us know how it goes . They might even be willing to remove idle restrictions on your tractor to save you the trouble .
