Depending of the load of course, the general rule I've used for years is 275lbs per hole to shift the weight. With highly concentrated weight like 6,000lb paper roll stock you can go up to 700-800 per hole. 275 should get you in the vicinity you need to be. I'm not sure where the driver got his figure from.

I got the weight legal. Returned to shipper 5 more times to be reworked. Shipper loaded me a total of 6 times before I was legal and rolling. By that time, I didn't have enough hours left on my 14 to make it to final, live unload and find somewhere to park. I drove as far as I could and shutdown for a 10 and I'm currently waiting for unload at customer. Terminal manager called me thismorning about me not arriving last night, said "you'll be hearing back from us shortly." I assume he's looking for a way to push a service failure on me for this load. He seemed pretty mad about it.

Per what I told you in PM, if you sent in the late delivery macro with the reason, they should have no issues.....if you didn't send it, then they may give you grief and the service failure, but that's survivable...it rolls off after a year, so relax and learn from this little incident to CYA, constantly and that means not doing things illegal either.

    Good Luck

I hope you were keeping them updated via qualcolm on all delays. Plus having your scale tickets will help protect you as well. Also you may need to remind them about california and what is legal. Don't assume they know this already.

Ouch. Did you keep them informed? ("Have to reload to legal the load"; "Shipper reloaded six times to legal the load"; "Finally leaving shipper, scaled and load is legal; now won't have hours to unload today"). They're dinks if they bust you on this--you did the right thing. BOL.

Unfortunately, I did not inform them that I had to take another 10. My fault. Completely forgot. I did however tell them that I was going to be late. I didn't specify how late and told them I wouldn't know untill after I was legal. I do have all 6 scale tickets, but that's not gunna help me out of this one! Should have told them I had to take another 10, I know. Slipped my mind. That won't happen again! Haven't heard back from fleet mngr yet so I'm not sure what's going on. I'll most definitely be CMA on everything from here on out!

Live and learn. One thing I found out is its never wrong to give them too much info.
