Same as hauling a crst load, 25%. But on broker loads they will break out fsc and tarp pay which you get 100% of.

hows it going gravdigr? making any money?
-
Well what I meant was, when you get a crst load the agent already has fsc and tarp pay broke out. When you negotiate a broker load you just negotiate one rate, your FM gets that number then breaks out the fsc and any tarp or stop pay.
I'm not making any real money yet. Keeping the bills paid and getting the truck set up the way I want...and learning 240 miles deadhead to go home every weekend isn't acceptable (120 miles to go home friday, another 120 miles to pick up a load monday on average). I live in a crappy freight area right between pittsburgh and York PA. I told the GF I will be coming home every other weekend unless we can find loads in and out a little closer to home. -
Hey Gravigr, Just wanted to know how your week went? Hopefully this week was a little better for you. JT

where exactly did you hear that about the repairs? my mother -in-law owns a tax business and cant find any publication from irs stating this.
was the guy maybe talking abouts improvements to assets? such as building or property of the trucker? for example repair of a shop roof is 100 per cent deductable, but a completely new roof would be depreciated. a repair to a truck to keep it in running condition or up to dot specs , or simply operational has always been a deductible expense. a new turbo falls under that category.
now if you replaced a trailer with a new one that would be depriciated.
which show and which accountant stated that on sirius.
and i have always deducted workboots, even non steel toe, i have a imminent danger of falling and slippin while working on a flatbed, thus oil and slip resistant workboots are necessary to the proper and safe operation of my business. i have deducted any tv i have ever bought, but then of course i use it to watch weather reports in order to plan a safe route of travel and to avoid any impending road closures, turns out it is a necessary item to the operation of my business, as are coolers, truck fridges, inverters, genrtors etc.
sometimes ya got to push the limitbagman12002, scottied67 and SheepDog Thank this. -

-
The tax changes are new and not implemented yet. The trucking tax accountant on the dave nemo show was talking about them. I forget his name but I believe he is linked on the nemo website, I'd have to poke around.
Your fuel card is not open. You get an advance for fuel based on the miles and you can get an extra $100 put on it if you choose. I have never been hard up for fuel and I have deadheaded up to 400mi for a good paying load (last time I go to kansas ever again). -
