    As the saying goes.

If you have to ask , you wouldn't understand anyway.

DrtyDiesel hit it right on the head, I dont want to run 4500 miles a week or even 3500, I just want to cruise these last few years I have left in the working industry, If you need to run 75 and max out your log to make a living?, then That your problem, I can make a descent pay check at 2800 a week, thats about 400 a day, takes me about 7 hours to complete, then I can relax the rest of the day, That sounds like a great day to me

halfburn, DrtyDiesel and Moosetek13 Thank this.

Guys, is this a good deal? Happened a few years ago.

Me and a few other Boyd's loaded out of Dallas going to Arizona. A leg of out trip was routed on I-10... It was me, an O/O leasing a trailer, and 2 company drivers. Me and the O/O can do 70... atleast that's what out computer says, Company can only do 60, 65 when that ###### drvrreward allows it.

The companies went first has they arrived before us. We all agreed to run in tandem, after an hour of BSing me and the O/O took off. maybe 15 minutes later BOTH companies are on the shoulder with a double bear. Me and the O/O pulled up behind them, of course the bears got a little scared. They got escorted to the next pull off to see if the company can do anything. Nope, so here we are back tracking with a police escort.

They have to figure out how not to be a rolling road hazard, the first idea was to have us push them down the highway, of course, leave it to the new guy to BS about their job. We try to reroute using my atlas, yes, MINE, none of them had one...

We figure it out, and make a run. We got out of TX, ran across the top. Got south of I-10 before we had a problem, we have to pull off because were getting in trouble. "Excuse me, but maybe if our dispatchers wern't so brain dead it wouldn't have happened." The person I was talking to hung up after I said that. The O/O said a few choice words and hung up. One of the Companies says something, gets in his truck and has that look like all hell broke loose. "...they told me to deliver and find a dealer to park it, I'm going home." I'm confused, then I notice he's a 3 million miler. No wonder, apparently we should know better.

I stand for governed trucks, buts they have a down fall to it with idiotic dispatchers.

I ran my own truck at 65 coast to coast. I have left California and had the same fast trucks pass me every day. Sometimes more than once a day. Running a comfortable speed regardless of the max allowed pays off in more ways than one. If it was neccessary to run wide open why don't people try to make up time on their stops? Have you ever seen anyone who didn't have a bathroom emergency stop and jump out of their vehicle and take off running for the store? Looks like everybody just gets out and meanders around like they are in no hurry whatsoever, 4 wheelers and trucks alike.
