Okay, Werner's drivers are hurting....I got out of it; but, I am really concerned about their drivers (and C.R.E. drivers)....it is not an isolated problem...their drivers are at risk due to the methods of business that Werner and C.R.E. practice...
Werner compared to C.R. England

to keep the engine idling: while idling, engage the cruise control,(push button steering wheel);push the acc (button steering wheel) and bump up the idle a little bit; then push the dec(button steering wheel) till the engine returns to idle; tada , that engine will idle all night ( of course leaving the cruise control on) - let em ##### about the idle time; they're all going home to their ac..
ex Warner hereSofia and AfterShock Thank this. -
If you try and give a two week notice, Werner won't let you back to your home terminal (so, it is better just to drive to your home terminal without saying anything) and return their f****** truck; they don't pay you and they don't consider their drivers medical needs....it's literally being "held hostage" on the road.....
Within the first month I started solo driving, I just wanted to get the h*** away from Werner as quickly and safely as possible. Werner's Safety Dept and Drivers Relations are supportive of the organized crime....it is not worth trying to resolve any issues through Werner.
While I was driving for Werner, I remained a "well-behaved slave." (I didn't want to make to much of a problem during OTR, because Werner would make more of a problem for me)...I just wanted to get their f****** truck back in their terminal and get away from them.....and I did.
At least four out of five new drivers who I started with in orientation, did exactly the same thing. (I am not sure about the fifth person...but four of us left as "well-behaved slaves.")
I managed to leave Werner without any of their fraudulent DAC or DOT reports against me. It was worth it to be a "well behaved slave" and quickly and quietly leave Werner. Trying to fight Werner's fraudulent DAC and DOT reports is very stressful, almost impossible and time consuming for many of their truckers who have been driving 12-24 months. Werner tries to make drivers financially responsible for truck damages that were pre-existing before the truck was even issued to the new driver...(and proceeds to file false DAC and DOT reports to support their actions)...that's why you don't want to give a two week notice....just get away from Werner if you get trapped working for them.AfterShock Thanks this. -
They would rather have you risk it till it gets to their rinky dink shop.Sure you get the miles but what's the point when u have junk yard trks/trls to have to deal with. You really have to do your research before starting with just any smaller company. -
Noticed many people decided to dog-pile the op, not cool folks.

Hey, where are you getting the little smileys from?
Aftershock uses them all the time. I can't figure out where they are.
As far as big vs. small, I have found its much easier to communicate within a smaller company.
I agree that you can end up driving junk, but you can also end up with better pay and a better relationship with your employer. I'll take that over a new Pete and .25 cpm. -
This no idle situation is going to get worse as diesel prices once again go through the roof for no reason.*sigh* get ready to freeze.....
