Today one of our owner ops went out of his way in swapping loads with me so I can get home before Tuessay for a very important thing. Despite letting people at Stevens know I needed to be there both verbally and over the QC for over 90 days, and telling them I needed to be home Sat of Sun to give a little wiggle room, the best they could do was Wednesday.

One of our Owner Ops stepped up big time and I thank him profusely. I am not sure if he posts on this forum or not, so I don't want to bring out names or truck numbers, but I am deeply indebted to you.

Stevens not so much. Can getting home by a certain date with 90 days advance notice really be that hard?

I'm sure glad you got home...It's a shame that you have to beg and plead....and even have to get a favor from a fellow Driver ...just to get home for a pre planed event...

It seems that they believe that the only way to waste a Drivers time ...is to not use it....

    KMac and TRKRSHONEY Thank this.

That's pretty awesome. That a fellow driver would do that. I know I would for someone. Just as I would hope someone would do that for me. Nice to know there are still decent people out in this ###### world.

    KMac and nascarchuck Thank this.

Glad that it worked out for you KMac. When I was there I dont remember having any problems getting home when needed. In fact they sent me home about 3 days ahead of schedule for Christmas.

Probably has more to do with location. I am i n Delaware, but I think I gave them plenty of notice.

When you need to have time off or want to hit a certain date, start sending in a reminder on the QC every day. Not only does your DM get it, but the load planners see it and begin routing you homewards.
I always go by the old addage, "If it wasn't written down, it was never said."

    KMac Thanks this.

When I was OTR with stevens I never had a problem with getting home when I needed to be home. But I was one who stayed Rollin and not trying to go home every 5 Weeks. I think my dm was a little afraid of me... He always said oh boy what did I do now when I called... Hahaha

    nascarchuck Thanks this.
