You drive 300,000/yr solo? Works out to about 5,800/wk. I don't think so.

Almost reaching 2 million miles, no accidents with a couple of tickets but not since 2004. I do seem to get the odd one in my personal chariot but you can
understand that when I tell you I live in Texas. Texas cops will give you a ticket for nothing. It's their way of intimidating you.
As for trucking, I've been doing this gig for long enough, 15 yrs and I still get those know-it-alls in Safety preaching the merits of the "Smith System" Frankly I'm
sick and tired of hearing that. There's no magic formula with driving a rig. You can't teach safety in a classroom. I don't THINK safety, I just go out and DO it.
As I hail from the UK, I still can remember what it's like to drive on the "wrong side" as you lot put it, but driving on the left certainly has it's way of making you
honest, and to take your time. driving to me is an art form, a way of expressing your inner skills, having the patience fortitude and acumen to go out and be the best
at all times. No matter what the weather is outside. To be able to anticipate what may happen, is a skill that I think is really important. I firmly believe that we are the best out there, head and shoulders over our 4- wheeler friends. We have what it takes, we are that good. I see it every day. It's time the DOT and the politicians
recognized this instead of dreaming up boneheaded legislation and regulations to clip our wings once more.:biggrin_2555::biggrin_25519:

Gosh...I don't really know after 32 years and then retirement...I guess I'll qualify..a few tickets b/4 we had to give up multiple drivers license (read started the CDL program) but accident free for the entire 32 years.

well I can't say accident free. Shnieder national took my hood off a few years back. I had a rock trailer trailing arm break while dumping and go over many years back.

    Dave 1960 Thanks this.
