Ive tried them all, eclipse turned out to be the best one for me. I didnt care too much for it at first, but it eventually grew on me. I really love the GPS feature. I bought the GPS receiver from Amazon to pair up with this, makes it childs play to do my logs now.

I tested the Eclipse Log Book program while I was training for my license.

This is a top notch program, with or without the GPS attached.

The only draw back, IMO, is that you must have a printer on board your truck to be legal (due to DOT regs).

I don't know how they will interact with the new EOBR regs when they take effect, but time will tell.

The software is well written and versatile.

    Hope that helps.

There will be an EOBR version of it when/if the time comes that they make EOBR mandatory.

I use Eclipse logs. I like them and I have only had one officer give them more than a quick glance. The gps coordinates seem to catch their eye. I just comment "yep can't cheat with this one" and they just send me on my way. They are easy to use but mine shut down sometimes and I have to restart them but I have never lost data. I use a program on my laptop the create a virtual gps from my gps sensor and splits the signal to my map program and my log program. Works great.

Love the program use it when I go out further than the 100 air mile. Had my dot audit and the DOT inspector really liked it. I use a brother pocket jet 3 thermal 12 volt printer and roll thermal printer. I have tried several trial versions of other e logs and liked and bought eclipse for ease of use. I like it.

Been using it 6 months, and really like it. I tested another one and found Eclipse much easier to use. Been checked a couple time, the officers just glanced at it. Seems they think its tamper proof, but both made comments on how neat it is. And my carrier I leased to have found no violations since I went to it.

I have ben looking at this program for a few moths. Normally you have to have your log book up to date as of your last duty status change. How do you handle this with Eclipse? Will the DOT just look at today's log on your computer? Do you have ot print the logs every day or will they look at logs from previous days on your laptop? I am interested in finding the actual regulation on this subject.

    Thanks
