Wow! You have your work cut out for you! Talked you into a shiny truck huh?! Hold onto that net bump up money, you're going to need it! Central really lets you lease after three months experience? That's just plain evil!

There is a reason they won't let you go back to company after leasing....

Central will allow you to lease early if you have trucking experience or business experince.

This advice is what separates the true professionals from the steering wheel holders.

Once you've been in your truck for a while, it will "talk" to you and warn you that something is wrong.

Maybe it will run hotter than usual, or start burning more oil than usual. Sometimes it just seems like it takes longer for the air to build up.

You can just ignore it until it gets worse, or you can be a real truck driver and report it to the shop even if it will delay you. I always say that I would rather be delayed at CRTWVC with air conditioning, a TV lounge, and cafe than be delayed along the highway when the computer eventually shuts the truck down.

I spend about 25% of my net income on bills, food, and whatever else. The other 3k+ per month gets saved for taxes, breakdowns, slowdowns, etc. Having run my own small business before I know how things go. Make hay while the sun is shining, cause when it rains, it pours.
My decision to lease had nothing to do with a shiny truck, it was a purely numbers thing. Also, I didn't get a shiny new truck. I took over a lease of a company spec cascadia. No accl depreciation, AND $50 less per week payment. Honestly if I only broke even in the long run vs company driving, I'd still prefer this. I get to use my brain a little more than when I was a company driver.

Hey passion, not giving you a hard time but how did you come up with numbers have only driven for three months? It took me a good year to know exactly what we were bringing in. Technically it takes a little longer to actually get a good year average. I am just curious how you wrote your business plan and what facts and figures you used. If you would please share.

Quick warning to others that might have the 2012 Cascadia - ours is now the second truck that I KNOW of (I'm sure there are more) that this has happened to... the fuel cooler developed a leak which has allowed coolant into the fuel and the fuel into the coolant. So the truck is now in the shop, over a holiday weekend (they are closed on Sunday and Monday) and we are stuck (again) without a truck. So watch your fuel and radiator!! Thankfully most of this will be covered under warantee - but we are having ALL the hoses replaced, even if they don't 'look' like they need it... that fuel corrodes the lines and we don't need them busting in the middle of no where...

I think I am having that same issue with my prostar right now.
I brought it into the shop last Wednesday running rough.
I told them the fuel looked bad and could not figure out why. It was cloudy and discolored.
Computer started saying water in fuel just before I got to the shop.
We drained tanks, replaced fuel filter 2 times. And seemed to be clear. The fuel in the tank almost looked like orange juice. We shop seemed to think someone put something into it. I am not sure if it is that or coolant (which is red). The problem is that if my coolant level has gone down at all it is not much. I cannot see a difference.
But They cleared the truck for me to try running it.
Was ok in the yard bobtail and near idle. As soon as I had to accelerate to highway speed I could see that I still had an issue. Will not pull. No power in the low to mid range. Seems ok at top end.

I think my injectors are bad now. And that the engine is misfiring on at least 2 cylinders. But they will not let me hit a shop till I get back to the yard. At home for long weekend now. Will go back out Tuesday and try to get a swap out so I can go down to Columbus and not to Chicago like I am planned too.

There's a special Indian necklace made with polished stone that gay truckers wear. It has a stone bear and a silver feather on it. I believe it's suppose to transmit understanding and give the wearer courage and inner peace.

But seriously, you'll find the same treatment you find with the rest of society. It's just a smaller piece.

Try thinking trucker, not gay trucker. My sexual orientation has nothing to do with my job.

You'll be fine. But, if you go with the flashlight, make sure to put batteries in it.

    Good luck
