I heard Stevens trucks only go 60m.p.h...and if your picking up speed downhill grade...and you exceed that 60 m.p.h...it starts beeping..and u can be pulled into safety if you do it to many times?...really?

Wrong. The New Guy trucks are set at 62 and the beep doesn't go by speed, its RPM.

Does anything happen if your momentum takes you over 62? Clueless on how a gov. works.

So, I posted a couple times before I went to the school, well I made it threw that, and or1, now I'm out on the road with a trainer for or2. I just wanted to get some thoughts from everyone on here. First off, I love Stevens and do not plan on finding work anywhere else, guess more than anything else, I just need to vent. So I got lucky and got a pretty good trainer during or1. He really taught me alot, I do think he had some anger issues, but he always treated me with respect, and I treated him with respect. Well I was on the yard for my or2 class, and as it turned out, they ran out of trucks for the trainee teams. Well I was not lucky enough to get a truck. Now this is really what is driving me crazy. I passed all the driving tests no problem, but a lot of the people in our class that failed their driving tests the first time got a truck. I mean there was one guy that ran over the concrete pole before he even made it out the fence! But yea, he is out as a trainee team right now. So, I'm not dumb, I know I made my last trainer a lot of money, honestly don't even care about that, he taught me alot. But it's driving me crazy that I'm out with another trainer with another orange report card. Not really even getting a chance to figure out anything on my own because I'm on his truck, and it's gonna be his way, can't even change my status in my log book without him telling me to log stuff incorrect in my log book, it just drives me crazy that I didn't get to go out on a trainee team. I actually asked if I could wait on a truck to become available, nope had to go with a trainer. On a side note, now I'm a little concerned, my trainer is driving on I-64 threw virgina, and we just went down a pretty long downgrade, he went all the way in 10th with the jake running about 65 with lite brake pressure the whole way. That will smoke your brakes will it not? Anyways, I guess I'm just a little disgruntled. I feel like I had to do what I had to in or1, now instead of getting to learn the things u need to learn as a trainee team before u go solo, I'm just out here runnin my 11 a day makin this guy money, and not learning anything else. Any thoughts?

That very question came up in our or2 class, hopefully I can explain it as well as they did. Ok, when you run over the governed speed of the truck, it does put an overspeed into your critical events section on your qualcomm. They told us that the truck is only given enough fuel to run a certain speed, when the truck exceeds that speed, it cuts fuel to the motor, and it could cause damage, not sure how though. However, of there is an issue with the motor, and you take it to a dealership, they can download everything, and they could void the warranty for to many overspeeds. Then Stevens would hold the driver responsible for repairs. Once again, that's what was told to our class, not sure how true it is though.

But when you are on a downgrade you aren't needing any more fuel, basically coasting in gear.

Yea, that's what didnt make since to me either. I don't understand why over the governed speed is some magical number that tears up the motor when coasting in gear. That's just what was told to us.

I wish you luck, best advice I can give is when you go in the classroom, sit on the side of the room up against the blinds. It seemed like they went straight down that row giving out trucks, then some other tables got trucks. But don't be mad at me if they reverse it this time or something lol
