Just delivered my load at Frito Lay in Lynchburg. Called up about another load and was told that freight is very good this weekend, I should have a load shortly.

2 hours later, here I sit still waiting for a load......

You need more accurate ETA's and NAT's, it's your fault LOL

uh yea I know, I put my ETA at 1330 and my NAT at 1400. I got there at 1320, MY BAD!

3 hours later they send me a load to pick up tonight, which I can't because they wasted my 14 sending the load. It has to be in Laredo on the 4th, which I can't because my 70 will run out and I have to take a 34 to get there.

So I park, and take a shower so I can pick up the load first thing in the AM. I get back to my truck and have a message from ops stating "since I don't show you picking up this load yet, please pick up the load and run a bit before you update your ETD and NAT, Thanks"

Sent a message back that it doesn't matter, because my 70 will run out and the load won't be there till the 5th.

So, are you out longer than 2 weeks at a time? I was told I'd never see the West Coast unless I specifically asked to do so, and would be out longer than 2 weeks.

Have fun. Have your friends take you to Seattle to get some Dick's Drive-In.

Yea, I'm staying out for 6 weeks this time. Not going home until 9/23. My new Pickup Truck that I ordered a month ago is scheduled to be built on Monday 9/3 and delivered on 9/24. I'm taking 5 days off to enjoy it.

I'm also taking 3 days in the 2nd week of October for a friends wedding. I'll have 8 days over the course of 3 weeks off, but I'll have 6 weeks before and 5 weeks after to make up for the time.

This is only the second time I've stayed out this long. I'm planning to do it again from Mid October until Thanksgiving and taking another 4-5 days off.

Nothing bad to say about Schnider. They got me my c.d.l. for free ten years ago and plenty of miles. Good company

Was going through my history the other night, and realized it's been 25 years since I started driving... Granted it was spotting for a year, and then regional for four years, but that's a heck of a long time ago...

I can now say that I've driven through a hurricane (hehe), AND a tornado (really) in one day here in St. Louis... My first week of training is over, and can confirm that it IS just like riding a bike, but all these new toys are really cool...

Looking forward to joining the Schneider team in two weeks!!!
