Well, I'll probably get blasted for this, but it's about time they started doing something!! I can't count the number of times we have pulled in to park for our break, only to find several empty spots that are inaccessesible due to drivers parking in the fire lane because they were too lazy to back in!!

Many of you may think how dam often does a fire occur, and I'll be able to more long before the fire engines get there. THat may be true, but the fire lanes are also for police and EMS response. So if your having the big one, the ambulance may have one more obstical to get around to treat you, and again on the way back to the ambulance. Please don't park in the red zone.
skibum_63, HwyPrsnr, TRKRSHONEY and 1 other person Thank this. -
About the only reason the Ambulance would be there is from someone falling out from the high prices in those places...
platinum Thanks this. -
Anybody remember the Pilot in Barstow, CA that burned down? I believe it was cause by built up lint in the laundry dryer vents (from what I remember reading). But yeah, surprised there's not more grease fires at some of these grease pit truck stop kitchens.

I know your just being funny, but I'd say 7 out of 10 are a heart attack waiting to happen!
TRKRSHONEY and 58Skylane Thank this. -
flying J in Lodi,Ca has it painted in big red letters, all over thier lot, NO PARKING FIRE LANE,
Yet don't enforce it. Every nite there will be trucks parked over them.

U are right. I needed ambulance up in WA at a Pilot on I-90 back in 1998. Lung blew out. Quick responce and access in a T/S really does save lives. U never kno when u need them. Be safe out there drivers.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this.

Fire departments make inspections of any hazardous materials licensed operation at least once a year. If they notice violations while doing the inspection, they notify the local police who then patrol more often and write citations.
Protects the establishment and law enforcement from liability in the event of an occurance where a blocking vehicle was a contributing factor.
Fire lanes are there for safety, even tho they may be inconvenient. -
I am glad to see the fire lane parking enforced, maybe some will take notice when they need emergency services and the apparatus is blocked by trucks parked in the way.
TRKRSHONEY and HwyPrsnr Thank this.
