Okay before I hear all the bottom feeder comments that I'm well aware of and have told my recruiter that there company basically sucks, Im scheduled to go to training again September-17th in my home town school and drive dedicated for Caterpiller tractor out of Peoria,Illinois.after school and 28days with a trainer or Lead driver is what they like to call them.
I drove for U.S xpress back in 2005 right out of School and had a accident that was eventually ruled Non-preventable,I was with my trainer but U.S terminated me for safety reasons and trashed my DAC. I could not find another driving job anywhere. also I caught a minor Misdemeanor and everyone knows how that effects someone.
Anyway CRST has agreed to hire me if I go back to school and sign a 8 month contract yeah I know the story on that to.22CPM .worst in the industry.

I have not decided for sure Im going to do it but I want to get back into trucking and need that 8 months to a year to open up more opportunities and then I will run like a jack rabbit. the terminal I will run out of is only fifteen minutes from my house and going to a local school paid for by them, living at home while in training, only part Im really apprehensive about is running teams and what happens if I don't have a Co Driver you don't drive any where unless your an experienced driver you sit waiting for a Co driver from what I hear. anyway I quess my question would be should I take this final chance or just forget about trucking once again? anyone living In the peoria, Illinois area and wants to team and having a hard time getting a job get ahold of me I have a great recruiter although I know he's looking to make money off me he treats you with respect.:biggrin_2553:

    Never give up!

If this is what you want to do , you should eliminate the "give up" phrase out of your vocabulary.

If you have exhausted all your options, and CRST is the only one willing to give you another chance....well go for it. I wouldn't let all the other stuff bother you.

You said it yourself, The 8 months will get you back on the road and open new doors for you.

I'd be working towards opening those doors, and if CRST can get you there, do it.

There are times some have to start all over, and sometimes it's not what we want but the best we can get for the moment.
If your heart is to drive go for it. wish you luck.

Wow, they are a lousy company ?? Based on what ? The numerous steering wheel holders who thought this would be easy money, then becoming disgruntled when they realized this industry isnt for them ??? You can find the same comments for every company out there, dont let lazy people steer your decisions, dude. I have talked to plenty of CRST drivers this past two weeks, and all of em are making money. The only ones crying are the ones who have been called in for CSA scores, etc.

CSA is basically a safety "report card" on both you and your company. Any tickets you get in a CMV, including roadside inspections, counts as points against you AND the carrier you work for, in effect, causing your companys and your own ratings to go lower

Are you kidding? All the complaints about CRST are from disgruntled steering wheel holders, who don't belong in the trucking industry?

    You can't be serious.

Didnt say all. Don't know all of em. But the same complaints are to be found about ANY big company. The lower the companys hiring standards, the more complaints there are
