But the fact that it is seeing them, but not using them would point me to the settings.ini file first. If the GPS module was out then it should see 0.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Aaaah. You gots da big brain for sure man. So if it is just the ini file, would the dock file checker pick that up?

It should, but most setting.ini files are the same crc count and if I remember correctly it checks it in the D/R under tools, but it may not correct it.

I would have to physically change a settings.ini file here and then run it on the Production Dock and see what it actually does. Simple enough to test. Just change either the Port or Baud rate and then close the Dock out in the start up tray and then reconnect the TND and then run the D/R and see what happens.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Update -

I changed the Baud rate and D/R did correct it along with correcting the Port.

Question would be did the driver run D/R?

    Thanks,
    Mark

My latest exchange @ a TA for a brand new 710 went good,so far no issues with power. It looks like they improved their design of USB port . Two major disappointments are that Walmart logo is no longer on the map, it also does not indicate any more if they allow trucks to park overnight. Plus I had cases when the map would show POI like a McDnld's, or a truck shop in a cluster of up to five in the same area , with the same address which is confusing to say the least.

Go into preferences and turn off car POI's and turn on Truck POI's.

You need to verify and check all your settings under preferences and under truck tools to customize the TND for your needs.

    Thanks,

Yes,followed your advice and it did turn on additional POIs . Although the problem persists as far as wrong addresses coming up when I click them on the map with the pencil. Has to be a glitch, about 60 % of them would come up with the wrong name , or from the previous screen.etc.

go to preferences/general (device)/screen alignment - do a screen alignment.

I am understanding that when you click on a POI on the screen it comes back with the wrong information?

    Thanks,

Exactly, will try to align the screen but the info that comes up is about a POI that can be located as far as a different state, so...

Try connecting to the Dock and under Tools run D/R. But if you have a gotten a bad download from the get-go the file might be corrupted on your C:\ also and running D/R just puts a corrupted file on top of a corrupted file.

E-mail me... something is not right.

    Thanks,
    mark
