Methinks they are using other excuses as they don't want to try to explain, or don't understand the current restrictions on residency.

I thought you can live anywhere in the United States and drive for Stevens. Dont they have some drivers from California? My recruiter did not tell me that I have to be a resident at Denver. He told me everything I would need to know. I dont understand why they wont hire you, but if things cant workout for you, you could you should try looking to a school around your area or another company.

They do have drivers from California, and from Florida, and from East of I95, but they only hire from those areas sporadically because They dont have the freight to get them home. As drivers move on, they open up hiring in those areas for a short time.

Are you already licensed? If you are applying for the Stevens school in Dallas and are from Cali, then you are not eligible, but neither are students from 49 other states. If you are not licensed, look into getting your license locally. California is one of those states that will pay for your CDL school completely under the Displaced Workers Act. (so long as you are drawing unemployment).
Stevens hires from California all the time. Other than drivers returning to the mothership in Dallas, Cali is the most visited state by Stevens.

    FozzyBear Thanks this.

Im not a driver at Stevens, but I did read somewhere when you start solo, you will be getting 2200-2500 miles. It will change until you prove yourself. But the average would be 2500-3000. Stevens should be one of your choices to go with. I think they are a great company to drive with. If you are looking for a company that train drivers well and drive excellent equipments, then Stevens would be one of the companies you should recommend to go with.
