Well during training we are told that we should call our DM after waiting 1 hour after the time scheduled. And that they will contact the shipper to see what is wrong. IF a shipper is taking that long TransAm will want to charge them retention pay.

...that the driver may or may not ever see. After driving for a company that actually passes it on to the driver, I wonder just how often over the years the company I was driving for, or leased to, was collecting it without saying a word to me about it.

About 7 months experience at TransAm. Schneider is offering me 94CPM loaded/90CPM empty...TransAm pays 84CPM for the first year, going up 1CPM every year assuming you get to all the safety classes, maxing out at 90CPM loaded/empty after 6 YEARS! I am also going into the dry side, so a lot less waiting around, big bonus there. On top of that stuff, they will let me sign on my own truck, so the truck payments and insurance are about 1/2 what they were at TA, for a 2010 PETE! Plus, it is over 99% truckload...almost none of that LTL crap.

It is what you make of it I guess. They told us in class that it is all on you to be successful. They give all the tools you need. you just need to use them and keep running. Make best friends with your DM and Dispatcher and you be kept rolling. Ask for home time all the time and get your loads there at the last minunte then you not going to get the loads you need. If they give you a load and you have 5 days to get there and you can drive it in 3 day. be there early.

just disclose it all the recruiter will figure it out
my record was worse but nothing after 1999
the good news with transam is if they send you a bus ticket
you are hired they do the background checks first
unlike other companies you read on here leave you on the sidewalk
of course you still have to pass drug screenings
