Great, another driver I have to contend with to get home... Just kiddin... Where abouts in charlotte are u from?

Don't know if u have a place to park, but forget the truckstops in the area cause there are none. I pay for spot in mint hill right beside the house. I believe there are several commercial storage lots in our area. Biggest benefit, guaranteed parking!

I don't really like to run during the night but it does have its' advantages. The traffic isn't usually as heavy and it's easier to find a place to park in a truck stop at 9 AM than it is at 9 PM. The hardest night is usually the first then it becomes routine. Tonight and tomorrow will be really hard because I slept yesterday during the day then got in bed at home this morning while it was still dark. Tonight, rather than go to bed at home then have to get up at 0130, I'm going to the yard around 10 PM and nap in the truck. I haven't made up my mind yet if I'm going to go back to the yard and take 8 hrs off and splt log then go load or go on over the TP. My load time is 0900-2300 and delivery in Lebanon is Tuesday 0700-1200.

RickST, it was a pleasure meeting you this last Friday! Glad I was able to help out.
Looking forward to getting an orientation date, hopefully the 23rd or 30th.

Thanks again for the ton of information and tour of your rig.

Drive safe and I will keep you informed of my progress.

To all the other Maverick drivers that have provided me with information, I thank you too!

sewerman, RickSt and jxu417 Thank this.

I hope living where I do (less than 30 mins from 3 major interstates) and with the companies in the area that Maverick hauls for the home time works out okay. If not, I will deal with it. I live between Denver and Lincolnton. I haven't really found a place near the house to park but I do have a place in Statesville if needed. It is about a 35 mile drive to the house, but I can leave a personal vehicle there and it is gated (trucking company that I know the owner of). I will do some more serious looking once I get to that point. My main concern right now is getting through orientation and training!

Yes, $500 for the week of orientation ($50 up front then $450 on your first check), then $550 per week for securement training and while you are out with your trainer

I've delivered in lincolnton once before and newton about 3 or 4 times. We haul plate there out of portage,in. Seeing where we live, we haul a lot of occur out charlotte pipe to nyc and Brooklyn... Sometimes multiple stops in nyc. Just a draw back to consider...

Securement training is a week to 10 days and you are out with a trainer 3 weeks minimum. You will go home on the weekends when your trainer does if he lives near you, if not you will be put in a hotel near the trainer which is paid for by Maverick.
