Just picked up a new TND510 and so far it seems to work well with one exception, it seems to have a very bad "lag" or delay sometimes while clicking on various buttons. Sometimes when clicking on the map button from the main menu screen it will take 15 seconds or more for the audio click and then maybe another second or two before it actually changes screens. Something that is common? Could it be something in my settings?

Are you using your fingertip or stylus? A fingertip may not register the tap.

Whenever you go to a new screen it has to load into memory for the first time. Depending on what screen you are going to it may take a few moments to load. Once loaded the next time will be faster.

Always try to turn the TND off and on every few days to clear out memory. If you leave it on and running 24 hours a day it may show a low memory message in about 3-5 days depending on what you have on the screen for settings.

    Thanks,
    mark

Ok, I was thinking they should probably know about it, or be notified. Maybe we can do that later, this afternoon or evening. It is still on my desktop, I haven't deleted it yet.
That is probably why, when I plugged the unit into my computer, I was getting that screen to scan and fix or ignore and continue. No more than I know about computers, I just hit continue, as I was afraid I might screw something up.

As you can see in the photos, space is at a premium, even for the 500. Thinking I'll fab up something to mount it to the left of my stereo. It's present location, on the passenger side is only temporary and only blocks the view of my right side air cleaner. Once I have it in place, the 500 will go into semi-retirement, in my Suburban.

You are absolutely right, after it loaded each screen it is faster the next.....one thing cleared up.

Next question is can this Junction View be turned off somehow? I already have a list of 5 places where it is not accurate. Actually it showed the exact opposite of the spoken direction and neither were accurate. That and I find it very distracting have it pop up so often.

    Mark,

In regard to Autocar's post. I have a link to a place that specializes in after market mounts and mounting solutions for a variety of stuff. Ok to post the link here?

That would be up to the site owner. But, I see no harm in it personally.

    Thank,

If you E-Mail me or PM me those locations Rand can verify if they have been fixed. There is a back button at the upper left to flip back to the map screen.

    Thanks,
    mark

I will certainly e-mail them to you. The list has gotten longer.

There is no way to just shut the junction view off? I use the back button everytime it pops up but would be way nicer to just shut it off.

Well at the risk of making someone angry, this site specializes in mounting kits for all sorts of stuff. I am not now, nor have been, nor will be- associated with this business in any capacity except that of a customer.
