I am also looking into leasing, contract would have to have the walk away option tho. I want to know what its really like being o/o befor i buy my own rig. I am just looking into it at this point. I know most people say u dont make any more money than a company driver but i talked to gal who leases with swift and clears 900 a week after everything. thats a good paycheck in my opion.

Just be careful. Not all lease purchase programs are bad. The one at my company is a walk away lease. All you'll do is lose the money you put into getting the truck and paying on it. Doesn't matter if its 3 months in or two years in, you can walk away. There are terms and conditions but they are fair.
EthanYoungTater and Ryanb24 Thank this. -
in order to make money leasing you have to be a trainer aka run team with a newbie All the time. you wont always have a trainee on top. the fact u want to lease so quick worries me

Hey right now its real easy to get a truck on your own thru a dealer then lease it to a good company that way u arent tied down with one of their trucks. I was very close in doing so my self but here in Cali the emmissions crap has increased prices way too much just ridiculous and the ones u can buy cheap are only good till 2014 i heard they got extended to 2016 but with the 14 grand worth of filters. I know i know move out of CALi im working on it.

quick question why dont u want to haul beer? you'd be the most popular guy in town lol and i agree with a lot of guys on here forget about leasing save ur pennies and buy ur own truck outright then either get ur own authority or lease on with landstar
YoungTater Thanks this.
