Well, my first week at Gemini is in the books and i must say i admire anyone who hauls fuel.CADEC has been the most difficult for me to learn but i`m getting better.
However, my trainer to me has been very impatient and says i take up to much of his time by taking notes.i`m 50yrs old and learning new stuff is harder than it was 30yrs ago. He got made and jerk my notebook right out of my hands and threw it behind the seat.

Follow the rack rules, and procedures to the letter, and double check everything. You will get some angry hard ### operators that will think nothing of locking you out for ever. They have cameras on the rack, and they do review those tapes so there is no hiding from the eye in the sky.
WideSkyND Thanks this. -
At the truck stop,
Even if the elctronics tell you there is room in tanks at station, always stick it anyways to be sure
You should also have a notebook with each tanks build style and capacity
And by sticking, its also a great way to double check have right fuel for that specific tank
My stepdad had full service gas stations in WI and MN, its not so hard if you start liking this work
I delivered seasonally through the winter months(fuel oil)for 2yrs.Loaded out at Arco Tank Farm in Portland OR
Was just a blast, the pay with incentives hovered close to 27$hrly, so theres money to be made in this vocation
Just at the cusp myself of getting back in full time basis, the man just called and offered a company store truck position
Not telling who, but its substantial and lucrative(260$)min daily.
Must say excited, and Im a 21yr veteran
Only drawback is having to travel over to Colorado way for 2 solid wks of training,
well I am sorely tempted,hmm -
How do you get in touch with a Gemini Regional manager? I went by the Loves here in ormond beach but there isnt even an office for Gemini. They just park the trucks at the truck stop. I asked a cashier but she wasnt really familiar with the Gemini side of things.

Web page, easy enough I looked just now and app is online
one thing have heard from some of their current drivers, better be squeaky clean,no exceptions including having decent credit, as unfair as that is for some
more than 3 employers last 5yrs might hurt also, they will train supposedly in driver shortage areas but look for stability overall.
submit app then I would call corporate office after a few business days and get safety online
find out who is in charge of your desired location, have them seek out your online application in the meantime to have ready for review
this company just bought several truck stops in a petro flying j deal so petro could avoid anti trust issue, been on a hiring binge for awhile now, also they look to be 100% cash and carry company -
Thanks for the info. I submitted an app online but couldnt really find any contact info to reach a real person. I was hoping I could at least talk to someone and make my case for consideration. Reason being is that I left trucking to become a firefighter but did drive part time throughout my career. Promoted in the fire service to driver/ engineer and then to supervisor positions. Believe it or not we use tankers in the fire service, of course it water not fuel, but it is in the liquid hauling category. Some of this does not translate on paper as well as it might in an interview. I used to drive tractor trailers regionally as well as locally so combining that with the fire service and an extensive haz mat background in mitigation and maintaining my class A and haz mat, tanker and doubles/triples endorsements I think I can make a case I could be a good addition to this company.
Thanks again for the info Ill see if I can make contact with someone. -
exit310 or some of others here should have the contact #'s for a regional manager, even if its just for his area
whether that person will share that info is up to him, ask them, /surprised no one has spoken up yet.if you can justify enough steady part time driving in
past 3yrs,and a clean background, they will try hard to find a spot for you. I trained one or two firefighters for heating oil delivery back in the day.
Company liked to hire them because of ability to quickly find addresses(no gps back then in trucks)and being physically capable of dragging hose several times in an hour.Last edited: Sep 20, 2012
