Would they take a current class 1 student on for nitrogen operator jobs? Class 1 should be in the bag in 4 weeks time. Longer if I had to train during my off rotation.

Hi Boomtruckin. Is there a reason why people are frequently quitting Trican?

15 hour days can be tough on anyone. Add being away from friends, family and life in general for 15 days and it's pretty easy to see why it's not for everyone. Some bases have a lot higher turn over rate then others. Great company though. New equipment that's well maintained, you get treated well by management and the pay isnt bad either.

Thanks SK306. Typically, how many guys are on these bases? Rooms to yourself? Amenities like WiFi? TV? Good food? Workout room?

15 hour days would be nice!!!! typically my trips consit of 36-54 hour "days". Figure 15 hrs would be a walk in the park!!!

Its not a camp, when he says ' bases ' he means the shop where the tractor/trailer units are stored and maintained.. no-one lives there.. housing is your responsibility.

    Westcoastsailor Thanks this.

They would hire you with a class 5 and train you to get your class 1. Nitrogen is not at all bases and is one of those departments that don't need to hire green hands cause many ask to transfer to it. Easy work, great pay, light iron, and bases are in major cities like Red Deer, Nisku, Grande Prairie. Not saying that they won't hire green hands, but it is way less than other departments.

With a class 1 any service company will take you on as long as you meet the requirements.

Not a camp? OK, then why are guys away from their families for 15 days? Sorry to be so naive..........
