2 months experience = First Solo Load Which is it?
Had A Seal = You put the seal on without checking inside the trailer, not surprising the seal matches the BOL Not quite proof you are not at fault.
You drove 500 miles empty Who should pay for the fuel and wear and tear on the tractor? The shipper screwed up and had a typo on the bol, you compounded it by sealing and hauling an empty trailer. Where is USX at fault?
Actually....never mind. It will just be more drivel -

Just wanted to post some comments regarding my time with USXpress..
My wife and I made more money during our time with USXpress than we ever have previously in our lives. I believe that USXpress has a lot of potential to be a a great company but, until someone from the top cleans house and restructures, it won't happen. If you haven't already heard, we have decided that money is not the only thing important to us and, have moved on. We start our new life on the road tonight. I am a little concerned going from mega big to mega small but, we shall see how it works out. I will continue to be a member of this forum, not this thread. This will be my last post this this thread. I pray for all you out there that are currently driving for USXpress. I pray that USXPress gets their house in order and things get even better for everybody. God Bless and happy trails..lol123456 Thanks this. -
Best of luck. Looking forward to your new adventures

i would sure appreciate an honest explanation of the problems there at usx. my brother and i are looking to team....sni and usx are the top of our list. were thinking we could do more miles/money with sni, however, the EXTENSIVE limitations i read about concerning their trucks...onguard....power inverters...pets...hands free devices....etc etc....have been starting to lean towards usx. he and i would run 24/7 if dot would let us, thats how we have always worked our whole life, so not afraid to roll.....just need good solid info WITHOUT all the "bashing" -
First let me say that all trucking companies have issues. There is no perfect company. You would probably do fine with either USX or SNI if you have the right attitude. You just need to be able to roll with the punches and develop relationships. Treat everyone you talk to, regardless of department, with respect and for the most part, that is what you will get back. There are jerks everywhere but for the most part we have found great people at USX. I have said to many new drivers, "don't be the next a55hole on the phone" Nothing gets done that way.
Also, USX has OnGuard in all the trucks, I think all the larger companies are going this way due to insurance cost.
To be successful, develop a relationship with your Fleet Manager, they need to be your friend and you need to be more than a truck number.
Problems I see at USX are mostly communication. It can take forever to get through on the phone. This is a major problem at times. Plan ahead and ask about delivery numbers and "what happens after I make this delivery?" Push your FM to get you preplans before you deliver so you can keep rolling.
Other problems just seem to be par for the course with a very large company. Rules are very stringent and inflexible. They have to be in a large company or chaos ensues. Also, finding a empty trailer can be a nightmare at times. After a while, you know where to look even if your fleet manager does not. Make sure you have your Hazmat endorsement. You get paid .48 to the truck on all miles, not just hazmat. That .04 a mile makes a huge difference and you will be running more Fedex loads which keep you moving.flood, Jbkrash and Buffalo644 Thank this.
