Thats just bravo sierra imho. Whats the point of having him surrendor his cdl? Why not just put him thru training with his cdl? Talk about lack of common sense. They are after that school money!

There is no "school money" with Prime. Prime is not a truck driving school, they are a trucking company that also teaches. Complete the year, no fee, nothing deducted, nothing, Don't complete the year and of course they are going to recoup something for all the time and money they invest in you

Yes but the man HAS a cdl is my point so by forcing him to surrender his cdl-a in order to be hired then attend their school to reattain his cdl-a is a gimmick. Many companies can and do hire drivers that need a "refresher" and they dont force you to relinquish your cdl. How can you even think that makes sense is beyond me but hey people voted for Obama too so you know...
Oh and if it aint for the money then explain what its for? They DO get a incentive from the gooberment to train drivers AND if he leaves they WILL charge him MONEY if he hasnt been there a year.

We hire drivers and actually train them out of school or if they need a refresher and we dont charge for it! <GASP>

Safety... and no, Prime doesn't "get money from the government." Anyone who is inexperienced enough or hasn't driven in years is starting over anyway. No one is "charged" for the training if they stay on for a year afterword.

Hmmm safety??? How does making him surrender a valid cdl make him any safer than if he kept his cdl and went with a trainer for a refresher?? Lame arguement.

Y'all should at least own it when your company does something nonsensical. If it was mine I would be saying it was nonsense as well. A for instance is my company used to hire straight up o/o's but now they say you nust lease a truck first then upon completion of that lease you can bring on your own truck. Now wheres the sense in that?
