Choice is not a good thing if it paralyzes you from taking action. Having the understanding that truck driving is easy to get in, but hard to stay in, mainly because of false expectations, and ego, will free you to listen and watch, then learn and act in an intelligent manner. As they say, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, but if you are in total mental confusion about taking a simple step, you may never take the journey.

Another thing that is wise and has been brought up in this forum time and time again, is to stay with the company you chose for at least one year. Your DAC report will suffer if you hop from one company to the next. So whatever you chose in the end, stick with it for 365 days, no matter if you have to scratch notches in the wall like you were in prison-- just get through it.

Try Crete. Should be a lot of trucks in Miami, there is a port there!

Only option that might work for you is if you move to another area where mostly trucking companies hire out of. Or if you stay where you at then you will have to go with CRST. I know someone on this forum that lives in Miami but went with Stevens and currently at the school in Denver. Maybe try talking with Stevens on that subject that you want to go to the school in Colorado. If not then CRST will be your only option for now.

Try Craigs List, there are several national companies that have their adds there hiring in South Florida. Schneider, Heartland, US Express just to name a few that have been on there this week, not to mention several local outfits.

    Good Luck, and Safe Miles.

Try USXpress. I think they are still hiring out of Miami.

I was in the same boat as you almost 3 years ago. I went ahead and went with CRST. They weren't so bad. I stayed with them for a year and a half before moving on to a better paying job.
