Thats not actually I bad deal you got there. Mon-Fri not getting laid off in the winter, still getting a full check. Wish YRC would do something like that.

Good news i FINALLY got the call up for a NASCAR team....BUT its only for one race lol. I have to make sure i can get 2 days off from work to do it but the money is good, truck is saaaaweeeetttttt. Its that Frightliner/camper/truck thing, with the car hauler behind it. They want to fly me to Pheonix the night before the Truck race, check in at the track fri morning, then work in the pits during the race, then after the checkard flag load up and head out. I'll be teaming (hence why they need me) normally he's solo but he needs to be back in NC by monday morn the lastest so they can reload for Homestead and he cant make the 2100miles legally by himself. So its a cool oppertunity to get my foot in the door with this team and make some extra money. And if i cant do it my dad said he will do it, since he'll be back in time.

oh and the other (full time driver i'll be teaming with) is only 28 and only has 30,000miles or so of experiance lol. My dads the one who trained him to drive last spring so i know he's at least a halfway decent driver.

Funny story, we lost our longest run, thus putting 3 drivers out of a GOOD paying run, so they have been running my run with me (crap money) since they're old runs freight is now runing threw the terminal my loads go to. Anyway this and a shift of another run from days to night has caused lets say.....Alot of beaching and threatening to quit by many drivers...

So the solution was to REBID ALL the Runs. With the one run going to nights they need 4 drivers to go back to night shift....oviously NO ONE wanted to do it....

Anyway yesterday i was talking to a driver that started after me, he was telling me that he heard the senior drivers are getting personal phone calls from the terminal manager asking what runs they want...So i said "i havent gotten a call yet" jokeingly. And he says "thats cuz where at the bottom of the barrel". So i said "NO YOUR at the bottom" lol Then he says, "your like a pubic hair higher in seniority then me" while holding his fingers like 1/8" apart from one another. Then i said "yes, but that pube could be the differnce between going back to night shift or staying on days...." then he says "SHEET your right"

Then this morning i get MY phone call from the terminal manager, he says "I only have one spot left on days do you want it? im sure you do i just wanted to make sure..."

and of course i said YES!

The humor in all this is the driver i was jokeing around with is literally right below me in seniority and will now have to go to night shift lol.
