Is there some sort of legal service truckers can join where they can turn to for legal advice/representation in the event of a ticket or other moving or non-moving violation? Maybe something along the lines of an annual membership, such as AAA offers but for truckers where drivers can have access to lawyers and/or lawyer advice for things regarding or pertaining to trucking and driving careers? I've learned prevention is the best medicine but also know life isn't fair and read several threads and posts on this forum where drivers have been on the receiving end of some bad situations, not always their fault.

Yes there is lots of prepaid legal services. i personally think they are a rip off. They are plenty of that cater to trucker tickets, advertised in every trucker magazine. Just like leeches there is no shortage of Law Enforcement or Lawyers

Save your money and then when you need a lawyer hire one. Pre-paid legal plans are nothing more than buying insurance for the ODD occasion that you MAY require legal assistance. They all want $25-$50 a month so just put that in a savings account instead!

I do not beleive they are a scam. Yes it is insurance and little pricey. But it is easy to get tickets one doesn't deserve and it is sometimes necessary to get tickets reduced to a non moving violation.
Your CDL can be worth quite a bit with no CSA points on it.
Not let me tell you some of the problems. These prepaid services won't do anything for warnings and warnings do count against you on CSA. Also these prepaid services does not garantee any kind of outcome. Usually they do help and it is hard to get an attoney for a ticket after the fact and when you do it can be quite expensive.
Best insurance is to drive extra cautious and slower than most on the road. Literlally do not get into a hurry even when running late.

i use open road drivers plan. cost about 20.00 a month. used them twice, both times i won my case . one was an accident that was blamed on me, the second was a speeding ticket in ohio. i paid no extra money in either case. they are a service that works as they say they will.

and flightline , remember the only warnings that go on csa are only the ones done with a level 1,2,or 3 inspection.

I signed up for the open road drivers plan and they lost my account. And now still not getting the deductions out of my settlements. They seem to be confused. So I just let it go.
Looks to be a good service and I know Mercer recommends it, but maybe they don't like the color of my money.

There are a few, I signed up as a newbie. It covers the wife and I for $2.00 a month...

It is not prepaid legal services, just access to lawyers at some (supposedly) reduced rate.
