Thanks for all the replies. As a newbie (coming back after being out for many years) I think it can be worth the cost since I can verify some drivers have used it successfully, such as Skateboardman. The way I figure it, if I use it one time and it avoids points or a conviction for a ticket or other violation, it paid for itself. That being said, I intend on being one extra safe driver, even if it means traveling a little s-l-o-w-e-r of which my company should appreciate since I'll be heading off into the horizon as a tanker yanker. No one plans on getting a ticket or having problems or incidents, that's why they call them "accidents" but I'm of the opinion accidents don't just happen, most are caused. However, I just read a post this evening about a rogue cop having it in for truckers and I know all too well how that scenario usually ends and it got me to thinking about something like this. Thanks again to all who replied.

I have drivers legal plan through USX. It's like $2.98 a week deducted from my pay. Gives you 24 hour access to a lawyer team across the country. I think then it's like $100 to get them to take care of just about any ticket excluding accidents. Accidents I think is 150 or 200 can't remember. But the nice part is that it also covers me if I am home and get a ticket in my personal pick up truck. Just have to call them up and tell them what happened and send copy of ticket and they will appear in court on your behalf and take care of it. Seems like a good deal for a little over $10 bucks a month!

Always find a way to sway the reasoning for whatever you did to be on the side if safety, if possible.
Like:
"Not traveling 85mph in the 45mph construction zone would have made my truck a serious safety hazard since all the cars were traveling at 95mph!"
Or:
"When backing out of that tiny dead-end city street I backed completely over a little white YUGO. Those cars are unsafe to drive. I did check that there were no occupants first."
