Heartland has one of the lowest turnovers, don't know where you are getting that made-up 120% number from. You keep making up the same stuff over and over and repeating it. already been over this ground. move on.

Ya know, I'm not a fan of HE....I worked there back in 2001. But I've read enough to know that Truthin and ChromeDome are stand-up guys and are happy where they are for their own reasons.
But michaeld019....you are just plain funny, dude!Kutina Thanks this. -

Ah, yes....I think I read about this in some rag...."Time", "Newsweek"...some such thing....the famous one-week only driver shortage that ended last week. -

I worked for them for 2 years when ended 6 years ago because they told me they have "drivers willing to do what it takes". They constant tried to get me to go over my logs, even said to just tell the officer that safey at Heartland said it was ok. Once they gave me a 17 hour drive with only 20 hours to do it. Umm, where is the time for a 10 hour break? When they said they had drivers willing to do what it takes, they meant double logs.
I never did run double logs though, just told them in a polite manor how it was, that I run legal and safe. So that I can handle, holding my ground to do what is right. But the part that I really hated was making me miss the promised home time which was suppose to be every other weekend. I'd get about 12 hours a month actual home time. What is that, time for shower, laundry, and a nap? Thats not the promised home time. But I put up with it for 2 years cause making 48 cents per mile was about more than I'd make anywhere else.
When I worked for them and I was walking around corporate (their old location, not the new one) in IA, someone said they had 60%/year turn over and were proud of those numbers. I guess companies like Swift, Werner, etc have about 300% turn over a year.
Since then I've heard they went to electronic logs, so maybe pressure to run double logs is not there anymore. I can say its one of the best companies if you want to make money, tons of drop n hooks on dedicated accounts like FedEx and Sears, so mileage is there, but no home time. So depends what you need more, home time or pay.
After 2 years they realized I wasn't going to move on (money was too good) so they helped me out the door blind siding me with interviews, making paper trail, in order to get rid of me cause I refused to run unsafe or illegal. I was however gladly using my whole 70 hrs a to its max, some times even skipping showers and hot food just to make the appointments and mileage. Guess that wasn't good enough for them.
I'd go back to them if they let me cause the money, but I know they hate me so whatever. Right now home time isn't important (but it used to be), so I guess I'll keep my eyes n ears open for any companies that have great pay that runs safe n legal.
