A question about bull haulers

    I just started driving a few months ago and, luckily, found a regional freight company that hired me right out of CDL school. Now that I am working nights and doing line haul, I see a lot of bull hauler trailers and they are all lit up like Christmas trees. Is this a federal requirement, or am I just seeing trailers from one company that just likes to have lights glowing all down the sides and up the back?

    Now thats a true bull hauler that takes pride in his large ride. When you see one approaching you had better be in the slow lane and no it is not a federal requirement but it sure does look great.

    BTW you might see a chicken hauler with the same set-up and the same rules apply= stay in the slow lane.

    we call them ,"chicken lights", first introduced by chicken haulers yrs ago. maybe because they felt inferior,hauling stinkin' chickens, with the feathers flying like it was snowing!! lol.

    now that bell hanging under the trailer is required. :biggrin_2559:

    Come on Numb, Take it easy on us chicken haulers. My grade A cluckers were already in the box. The only thing I had flying was the chicken juice.

    They definitely do like to move. A lot of our trucks are set to run 70, but they fly by me. I appreciate the answers. :biggrin_25514:

    It reminds me of that kids movie, "It's a Bug's Life".

    Two bugs are flying around and see one of them bug zappers. The one bug yells "Don't look at it".

    The other bug yells, "I can't help it"! .......zap zap zap!
