I would assume if they need you on your scheduled days off (that's why they want you to live locally) they would pay you your salary day rate plus any bonuses.

That online career fair paid off. I already got a job offer from Halliburton.

also the rep said the local companies around Edmonton is having a career fair on Thursday, at the hotel right by the airport. The day Im flying in.. Hell yea!.

Thanks again to everyone on here. great info.

also that online career fair is on again tomorrow if anyone is interested. the Halliburton rep said he was looking for 32 people. Its only a class 3 + labor position, but hell.. anything to get my foot through the door.

I found the info for the Job fair on the 18th.

u can only get OT on your week off otherwise u are on 24/7 of your shift after 8h u get bonus...if there is no jobs in the field 4:00pm u go home and then middle of the night when u get the call u go( u get bonus) when u finish the job let's say 7:30 am doesn't matter u go back to the shop at 8:00...and this happens all your rotation...over time u make on your week off...and as i understand for this they don't actually pay u they give u off days

that's salary for ya ...and u get paid year round without been laid off

maybe its changed but it used to be at sanjel if you got in past a certain time(2 a.m. or 4 a.m. or something) you were excused from the next shop day

You made it sound like if you are in the field at night and finish up early a.m you still have to put in a full shop day which isnt the case. You wash the truck and go home to reset with the odd exception(weekly etc) Overtime while on salary is minimal. If i get paid o.t it happens so rarely i barely even notice it.. and companies don't like guys to work days off because they have to pay bonus and a half plus owe you days. Its not like you can just say #### it i dont want days off this time, i'll take the o.t. You have to get your kneepads on and go to town on your co-ordinator if you want that

I was told that there is a lot of available overtime and that if I wanted to work overtime, it wouldn't be a concern.
