Central is just a training company and does not expect anyone to stay a full year. With your experience you need to go with one of the big boys. Stay away from Swift. Swift and Central are in bed together. They both are ran by idiots.

No, its not like good ole Dick Simon, IT IS WORSE!!!! They try to use them old strong arm tactics. Try to bribe you of your hometime and pay. Make them use the qual-comm, dont let them call u by phone. They try to get you too do illegal runs all the time. Central's safety record is in the dumps and only getting worse. DOT should move into Central's terminals, all of them.

    Hello
If Central is so bad in there safty record then why did they recive a certifacate in the top 10 for being safe? I will tell you that you are right about not calling them on the phone and sticking with the qualcomm and it is not because they are trying to get you to do something bad it is called cya for anything. We have been with Central for 6 yrs we own our own truck and we have never had a problem like that and I don't care who you work for you never talk to them on the phone unless that is your only communacation. So how long have you worked for Central? Are you still working for central? Thanks Lonesome_dove

    Hello again

You realy have no idea about Central do you? They are not just a training Co. There are drivers there that have been with them when they were with dick simon and like us have been with them for as long as they have became Central. I will say that yes Swift and Central and 13 other Companys are owned by the same person but that is no reason not to give them a chance, if you worked for them and they didn't work out for you dosn't mean that they won't work for someone else, so unless you know what you are talking about I would'nt say a whole lot.

I stayed on the road for 4 weeks and central cant get me home on time. They are nothing more than a training company.

    1. When u are offering people with 3 months exp. the chance to be an Owner Operator it is just bad judgement when they dont even have 4 full seasons.

    2. Leasing a truck from a company that has 5(leases and sub leases) in the pot is not a lease but a good ole con job. You gonna pay twice as much for a truck and still have $35,000.00 or more left the backend. Who's the fool??? (Stay company and save your money and by the truck out-right.) You can do better buying from a dealership than you can a "Lease Program." That is the honest truth. Remember when you are buying your truck a company upsets you; You can leave and take your truck with you. YOU CANNOT DO THAT WITH A COMPANY MADE LEASE..........

    3. A driver can become a trainer with 6 months exp. I dont think so, doesnt have all 4 seasons in to know how to train for all weather.

    4. It doesnt matter how long I been working for Central it is just a training Company. I have more miles and time than 80% of Centrals Drivers.

    5. I have never seen a company with more abandon trucks than I have here at Central. I have never seen a company that doesnt have enough trucks to go around. New Upgraded drivers (New drivers out of their so called training which is a joke.) are waiting for trucks as long as a week.

    6. Since, I know what to expect from a company and how to stop the bull**** before it gets started Central is working for me for the moment.

    7. Some people might find that Central will work for them, however new driver's beware!!!!

    8. I bought my truck when I did the company's owner/operator program (another company still in existance). When the last payment was done the title came to me, not a bill of sale. If the company will not send you a copy of the lease home so your legal advisor can look it over.... DONT SIGN ANYTHING.....

Lonesome Dove do yourself a favor and get real!!!! and tell the truth.

Dick Simon drivers earned their reputation the old fashion way.... I earned my the same way....

    Hello

You say that you were on the road with central for 4 weeks that is not enough time to even get to know the co. I will agree with you on the leaseing of the truck at only 3 months exp. You should wait at least 1 year or so befor you lease, that way you know if you want to stay with the company or not. What kind of miles did you get with them? because when my husband is by himself he gets at least 4 thousand a week when we are together we get at least 7 thousand or so a week, you didn't even give them a chance. As for not enough trucks to go around that is crazy what termanal did you come out of. And new drivers need to beware of what. When we leased our truck we got a copy of our lease before we signed it. As for telling the truth I have nothing to lie about. we have been with the Company for 6 years and have had no trouble with them or when we leased our truck from them, the only thing I can say about leaseing a truck is that it may be easier for team drivers than solo drivers unless you are committed to working more then 4 weeks but no more then 6 and if you give them enough notice of when you want to go home they will try and get you home, maby a day late or a day or 2 eariler but they have to pay you so much per day that you are not home on time. We have been with other co. and they are much the same so Central is no different then any other major co. SO FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE CONCERDING WORKING FOR CENTRAL GIVE THEM A CHANCE AT LEAST A YEAR AND THEN GO WITH A DIFFRENT CO. IF YOU FEEL YOU DON'T WANT TO WORK FOR CENTRAL. THANKS LONESOME_DOVE

The idea is to get paid more for doing less. You did not read the reply to well. I said 4 plus weeks on the road and they tried to send me on another load when it was time to go home.... I put in for hometime 5 weeks early... No reason to be late getting home with more than 2 weeks notice.
Salt Lake City is headquarters for Central and they did not have trucks for the upgraded trainees. Myself, I waited 2 days for a truck and then I had to go to another city to pick one up that was an abandon truck...

It would be better if the truth was told instead of blowing roses. I do know how to go home and that is what I did... 20 minutes and I have offers by 6 of the top 20 companies in the country for more money... I dont have to stay with Central, I came trained with time and miles... O/O, I did that and completed the contract with a $1 backend. Anything more that a $1000 backend payment is a rip-off...

The company will not send you a contract home to have your legal representative check it out.
