I have talked with several Werner drivers who say they don't have ambient sensors on their trucks and that they are getting all apu units removed and now allowed to idle during 10 hr breaks and so much time on their 34 resets. Wonder if there is any truth to this. Also heard at the Indy OC today that they are finding problems with these sensors affecting the bunk heaters and othere issues in which is resulting in no more sensors installed and some are even being disabled temporarily. Who knows but it's definatly getting weird out here.

See new drivers? This is what you signed up for. You thought it was like Smokey and the Bandit or Convoy where a truck driver was free. Well....you are not free. As matter a fact, you are a slave. Yes...go into the Flying J lounge with all them cussing smelly whiney so called truck drivers. They are all slaves too. Either that, or they just enjoy living like HOBOs. Who cares about you anyway? Ain't this the life you dreamed about.....OTR drivers....I don't know why yall continue doing this.
I was OK with it...but after reading what Yall are saying and talking with other drivers, it just plain sucks.
Me? I don't have my sensors yet. I am milking it too. I'm thinking that the longer I wait, maybe it would give them time to change their minds....maybe...
I still don't think that it would effect my job any. Besides, the AC on my truck works fine. But I feel for you OTR drivers...
And for the driver who said he was fine with it because of last winter? Last winter was one of the most mild winters in recent history. I couldn't belive my eyes when I saw 60s for highs in Wisconsin last winter. Just about all winter long with some minor cold spells....
It is slavery. But the good thing is, its not forced slavery. If I was yall up north...I'd be running....
This was written by me. I have been the poster child on YouTube for the last year. This is the only time I've talked negative about them to this extent....48Packard, dermetzgerei and moosc Thank this. -
I agree Ike. Last winter was very unseasonably warm and we will not have that again this year. I talked with several customers while taking care of paper work and signing in to get loaded in Souther Illinois and Indiana and they are all saying that this is just like 1977 when it was really dry and hot following a mild winter. If anyone is old enought to remember the blizzards that hit this country in the winter time of 77-78 will know how bad it got. Alot of these farming people are saying it will be a very bad winter. I for one am hoping that it isn't too bad but I ain't gonna hold my breath.

hmmmmmm, I found a way around the sensor LOL, but since next week is my last week I don't think it matters!

I am also milking getting the sensor installed. I am due for a PM Nov 3-8, but I am going to wait til I get told I have to get it done. I am OTR and this is going to definitely screw with the way I like to work. I'm not going to freeze on a reset, so I am not going to ever take one. That isn't how I like to work though. I like to run hard for 70 hours, then take a reset. Thanks Schneider! -

If they plan on having a revolution in trucking, let them. All the break downs will surely lead them astray.

Schneider is very cheap when it comes to making sure your four $200 batteries are operating as they should.

Looks like the issues with dead batteries has already raised its ugly head. over heard a driver telling the shop guy that he was out west somewhere last week where it was down in the teens at night and he had to have his truck started after running his bunk heater only for one night. Shop personel said that there is a meeting in GB tomorrow about this issue. He also said that mechanics were trying to warn the dumb dumbs in GB about battery life being an issue and that this would result in lots of jump starts and they just ignored them. Keep your fingers crossed if you got a sensor that maybe they will allow some kind of idle time to recharge batteries and stuff expecially while on a 34 reset. Luckily, I have not got that thing on my truck yet and hopeing that they ditch the stupid thing before they do or at least give us some way of charging the batteries.
