If she up front committed to Squire Training following CDL school, they may do that (?) Worth asking....

I would defintely ask and also ask what happens to the people who sign up for the school.

How far do you live from Tucson?

East Tucson has HDS trucking (both a CDL school and a 'rent-a-driver co.) that used to need 4 students to make a night class. From there, next door is their OTR co., DSW, which will train you as a team driver where you can make a few $ while you are out on the road training.

Does Squire Training pay you while you are out on the road?

BTW, there used to be a main HDS ofc in Phx but it was mainly for recruiting...

Knight pays student $450 per week while in training.
Trainer and student don't ever team.
Trainer releases student when he feels they're ready, usually within 3 or 4 weeks.

If the trainee gets $450/wk, I assume the trainer gets the miles, then how does Squire make $$$ doing the low miles (single driver) and paying std wages??

The trainer can never be back in the sleeper while the student is driving.
The trainer can drive if the student is out of hours, etc.
Other than that you'd have to ask them how they make money, although training is not a profit center.

A Knight owned co./division that's not interested in profit!! They must make the trainee sign a paper with their blood to commit for 1 yr or pay back a fine?!

That right there is HUGE and speaks volumes about the company's integrity. Not sure about anything else with this company but that alone sets it above many of the other entry level mega-carriers in my eyes.

I agree, it sounds as if their putting training above profit, which doesnt sound like Knight! There's gotta be a catch...Knight is not a 'give-away' co.
